Question about reputation/standing.

I am planning to do a full pirate playthrough at some point which will eventually put my reputation to absolute minimum with the races in the game. So the question is can i still buy blueprints/upgrades from space stations even though my reputation is at absolute minimum?

You start out at the minimum, so I'm going to say yes. Being a pirate doesn't really seem to have long-term consequences when facing the NPCs. Yes, you can get into a really escalated battle, but once you successfully flee that battle, you just go back to being a traveller in their eyes.

I've been pirating here and there and everywhere and my standing goes down a bit but then when I kill my next pirate it goes back up.

When you do DON'T kill the sentinel ship that comes after you. Just let him pew pew away and ignore him. If you do this you can steal everything in sight, destroy freighter defenses and run away. Your level will never escalate if you just leave the sentinel be.

Knew that already. Thanks for the post anyway. Sigh, it is still shame that there is no way to fight your way out of sentinel battles. Would make things much cooler.
