Platinum?

Ive only played Next, and i need like 1500 platinum for repairs. Ive seen what it looks like in space, but in Next is that the only way to get it? There's no refining for it whatsoever? (apparently all some in some caves....)

You used to be able to refine it but the experimental patch took that out. A super easy way of acquiring platinum is assaulting freighter cargo holds, but you'll need at least a B class ship with at least 3 S-grade shield upgrade modules to be safe.

Astroids. Shoot them for the Tritium, you will collect a lot in no time. Shove it into a portable refiner. Platinum for 5 to 1.

Had to do the same thing with a ship I wanted to repair. Platinum was the easiest part of getting the stuff I needed.

I recommend you get a nice fighter jet, make sure you have about 15 slots or more free from loot and then attack freighters in space.
If you only attack the large freighters you won't get a reputation penalty, the police and freighters will retaliate though.
Iridesite is 500 platinum by the way if used in the refinery.

There are still ways to refine it, they just changed.

You can also get a bunch from Supply Depots, occasionally you can buy it from ship NPCs.

What are you repairing? A broken ship? Yeah, those don't seem worth it anymore, just trade it in for a non-broken ship. 1500 platinum is probably worth more than the ship itself.

And buy it! And if you have enough, refine it! It gives Nanite Clusters, the currency.

Platinum becomes more common on asteroid belt on those more rare space system.

i find plenty in the asteroids, i first thought that you only got some in one or two of the asteroids, but inbetween the standard ateroids there are ones with crystals poking out of them, those are pure titanium, once you find one or two, you will start to see them everywhere amongst the asteroid belts
