Unable to hire a base scientist

I am trying to recruit a base scientist but can't find one. I have the "Expanding the Base" mission selected and from what I've found it should direct me to one, but I don't see a sign anywhere, not in my current system and neither in the teleporter. I have also visited mulitple Korvax systems and spoken to many Korvax inside and outside the corresponding room to where I could hire the gek for the construction terminal. And yes, I definetely do have the science terminal built.

Also, I am experiencing another issue that might be related to this: I seem to be getting pointed to a non-existent base computer in my freighter by a mission called "Base Computer Archives". when I am standing in my base with the mission selected I get told my base would be in another system. I'd expect to be pointed to an actual base computer and to be able to do something special there but when I acces one of my base computers, I just get the standard options of uploading, renaming, deleting and leaving.

Is anyone else having similar issues or knows how to fix this?

I tried additionally putting a science terminal in my freighter which doesn't seem to have helped. I also forgot to point out that when selected, the "Expanding the Base" mission says that I should learn how to construct microprocessors. Do I need to do that to be able to hire a scientist? If so, how do I do that?

Thanks for all the comments, my problem seems to have just been my ignorance, I only searched in the small lounge where I found the construction gek. Now I found a scientist elsewhere in the station.

For the first problem: I had the same problem, visited nearly 20 other korvax systems, spoke with all korvax there. But nothing. After that, i first installed the scientist 'computer' in the base. After that, the scientist was found at the current system.... Hope that works for you too. Little confusing that the quest points jo to a scientist before installing a scientist center. For me... at least i have maxed my inventory slots because of all my corvax visits.... :-)

That's my problem. I have the science computer installed but I still don't get pointed anywhere with the quest selected.

The first mission, the gek for construction terminal, has a quest-pointer. But the other mission for the scientist has no quest pointer to a specific korvax. Thats intended. Because of that we have to talk to many korvax until finding someone who is willing to work with us. For the other questions maybe someone other knows the answers.

i just went around and talked to everyone in the korvax space station, you might want to try removing the science terminal and replacing it down. (for future referance if you cant progress on any of the quests for the scientist, overseer, farmer etc. do the same thing and itll fix it.)

But I can't see one with either of the quests "Expanding the Base" and "Scientific Research".

Strange. But I had definitely no pointer. According to another comment you can also try finding a korvax(scientist) at trading depots on planets.

Thanks for all the comments, maybe my problem was just that I only focused on the small lounge where the construction gek was for me. I now searched a little more and found a scientist.
