How to add a friend to my group?

Hi there explorers, the title says it all allready. I want to play with my daughter, so i thinkl i need to add her to my ( right now not existing) group. Problem is, that i don´t know how to do that.
And i don´t know neither if we can play togehter right from the start?
Can she join my allready existing game?
How do we get togehter in an such giant universe ?

She should be able to join your already existing game if she is on your Steam friendlist, which I assume she already is lol. You can start from the start together if you also create a new save after you select play game, just hit a new save.

EDIT: Just make sure you have your Network Play option turned on, which is already will be by default unless you turned it off at one stage.

One of you start a geme the other clicks on join game & select which game to join.
