The same menu also contains the flashlight and scanning for trade posts (if you have that upgrade installed in your ship)
You can press control and a number on the menu item to assign it as shortcut to one of the nunber keys.
I have CTRL-2 for the torch, CTRL-1 to summon exocraft.
Thanks for this post...
Same with photo mode. It's not like we don't have a truckload of keys on the PC. How about F-11? Or F-6? Or any other ****ing key that isn't already bound? Why not utilize the unbelievable potential of the keyboard with CTRL, ALT, SHIFT + any key?
I should be able to hit one key or key-combo and switch between 1st and 3rd person views.
I should be able to hit one key or key-combo to turn on my freakin' flashllight. I have to go through a menu system to turn on my flashlight? Wut?
I should be able to hit one key or key-combo to take pretty pictures, on the fly. By the time I get to the menu option for photograph mode, the creature I wanted to take a picture of has moved 20 yards, and isn't looking anywhere near as cool as it did when I wanted to take the picture.
But no. You can't have easily-programmed good things. Sorry for the cynicism, but seriously WTF.
It's written in the Quickmenu, just follow instructions and press the key sequence you wish as a shortcut. It will be saved and next time you can use what you have defined. The sequence must start with CTRL plus a number, like instructed in the Quickmenu.
