Save Editor Issues
I'm using 1.6.8 (updated today) of the save editor from
https://github.com/goatfungus/NMSSaveEditor

I can't get the edits that I make to saves to actually take ingame. For example I want to add some launch fuel and warp cells to my inventory. Open my save... make the inventory edits... save the file... easy enough.

Ingame my save is unedited. If I open it back up in the editor the warp cells and fuel are there again.

I only have one save game so I'm not applying edits to the wrong file. I've tried both the autosave and manual save files in C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS\st_#########

What am I doing wrong here?

I even tried just recharging the modules in the editor and forgetting about the items themselves but I'm running into the same issue.

For now it's for the Beyond version, you should wait until they update it to the syntesis version

Just for grins, after you edit, try disconnecting from the Internet in case Steam is pushing your last save from there. This assumes you are using cloud storage with Steam.

Your using the editor to give yourself something the rest get in the game,. Its called playing the game and you cant even handle making or buying a couple items . I think the Devs have done something to prevent it from working. Your just gonna have to play the game and make or buy your own fuel and cells.
Calm down, let people play as they want. Every time there is a big update things change, and some mods or external apps might stop working.
Just wait until the creator of the save editor fixes the app. It shouldn't take long.

...er cheating? lol

But hey the Save Editor can be a useful tool for builders and other frustrating glitches. The MOD developer(s) may be best to answer your question. Maybe put a comment on the forum where you found the Save Editor.

Meanwhile it really should be very easy to make any number of fuel cells by quickly buying the resources from Space Stations in mass. Probably more interesting and less awkward than a save editor.

Also note that there are more than one save file. You may not be editing the one that is current in game. Check the dates.

Stupid question, but just to make sure: after editing the save file and saving it, are you reloading the save file?

always save your game normally ingame before you use the editor, start editor, do all the stuff you want, save in the editor. you will have to save twice if you edit the Jason file, once when you close the jason file and once at the beginnng page of the editor. close the editor, get back into the game and restart the game with any of the 3 ways to restart the game.
