After that just get the thrusters and pulse drive working the same as your first ship.
Then you can summon or fly it. Fly it the space station and scrap it. Your old ship will appear in the station it's place.
thanks
Scrapping a ship is a good way to add free inventory slots to your main ship free... I added two already plus got 300k and upgrade modules to boot. The new method makes looking for crashed ships worthwhile.
Big plus was finally using my little red exotic "Dropsy". I never flew it because it was too short on cargo space. Now I got a hauler disguised as a little red sports car.
Alternatively, lay down a save beacon at the crash site and return to your freighter, get into your trade-able ship and go and salvage that one at the station first. Then return to the save marker and claim the wreck, repair it and salvage it.
