Can't make my spare ship scrap because it says "inventory full"..

It probably means your exosuit's inventory.

odd. My experience so far, I needed 8-10 free slots clear, since the "scrap value" shown comes in the form of assorted parts, modules, upgrades etc. if your inventory is nearly empty and it's still not enough space? Somethings definately off there.

I have the same issue, if I have < 6 slots full it tells me I need 6. If I have >= six it tells me Inventory Full with no count of how many I need

I read somewhere and tried myself, I think you need 16 free slots on your inventory to scrap a ship. This mechanic surprised me but oh well, it's NMS.

I do not know how many slots you have? Maybe you just need to get more exo slots.

The scrapper will pay you not in credits but with items worth the credits, so you need to have at least 6-7 slots FREE in your exosuit, enough for all items to be transfered. Failing that you get this message and the ship will not be scrapped.

I've had as many as 12 slots required. If your in survival it could even be an issue with slot size reduced.

Sell the stuff it gives you before you take off from the station unless you really like pirates.
