Exocraft Advanced Mining Laser Upgrade Missing
I'm currently doing the missions for the Exocraft technician. He said he was giving me an advanced mining laser and to bring him magnetized ferrite. I already had magnetized ferrite in my inventory, so the mission completed itself, but I don't have the advanced mining laser anywhere. The next mission is now for something else. Is it bugged or am I missing something? Can I buy it elsewhere? Thank you in advance.

I think you get the blueprint to make it? Try getting in the exocraft, go to inventory of it, and see if you can make it.

I checked, even reloaded a save from before and took out all my magnetized ferrite so it wouldn't auto complete, but it's still not in any of my inventories or crafting menus. I noticed this time that he also gives me the plans for a different exocraft (the small one that has floating discs instead of wheels); am I supposed to use that exocraft instead? Doesn't seem right as I'd have to get the first laser for that as well, correct? Trying not to overwrite my save till I get this figured out. Thanks again!

Update: Further research makes it appear that the advanced mining laser will be given in a later mission. If true, the current dialog and request from the exocraft technician certainly seems at least misleading if not entirely wrong. I'll make a leap of faith and continue on and let you know if I get it later.

It sucks, your multitool laser is much better.

A fully upgraded Exocraft mining laser is more powerful and better to refull than a fully upgraded Multi-Tool made for mining. I have 3 S-Class modules for mining on my rifle Multi-Tool and my Exocraft with 3 S-Class modules of its own does twice as much damage to minerals per tick and doesn't have the annoying (and half baked) overheating mechanic. Also, it uses 0 Ferite when mining deposits and is much quicker, but at the cost of being less efficient at mining as much as you can from it.

The Exocraft Cannon on the other hand, while noticably improved from before and actually usable, still can't come close to a fully upgraded Multi-Tool; especially verses plasma grenades.

Glad it helped.

After the last major Exocraft update, I tested things out and liked most of what I saw. Everything got an improvement, but some things were still lacking; like the Exocraft Cannon, some of the movement controls, turret angles, and the sometimes glitchy follow camera.

But now you can climb cliffs! With the Colossus being the absolute king of hill climbing with the right suspension system (Drift Suspension adds to forward grip). https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1528326615 Yes, I was able to drive up, stop in place, stand on the Exocraft, and pose at my leisure for the picture. That craft has the best grip out there.

Exocraft mining lasers are well worth it now, especially when fully upgraded. Having extra space to hold what you mine is really nice. Unfortunately by the time players get that far they, typically are really close to having access to easier ways of getting resources.
