The game has lot of grinding and storage of items, but you can bypass the grinding by buying / selling stuff.
Minecraft is really not a base to know if you like this game, you would have to ask other questions so we can get you better advice.
P.S: I have a good memory about minecraft too
If you like to dig to make a base, for example, forget it. The terrain will reset and bury your base.
Most of the things you "make" in NMS don't actually do anything, they are just stuff you sell. Base building is cluttered but ok.
How can that question be answered as nobody here knows you, your likes, dislikes.
Check utube, read reviews, make up your own mind.
Other than that, the answer is ... maybe.
I luv it long time ... 1800 hours.
True ... and there are many that have played far longer than I have ..
If you are smart you'll love nms, if dumb then no.

At this moment, you have 4.6 hrs in the game. From this and your other comment, you don't know squat and shouldn't be giving advice.
It's an OK game, but the storage and grinding is getting to be too much for me so I am about to fall off. I got my moneys worth on the sale, but I have thousands of hours into Minecraft so this game isn't even close to the same level in my book.
So unless money is really tight for you, this game is worth the cost.
If you like exploring and unlimited vistas you will probably like it a lot.
You can seek out combat, but it is not really a combat oriented game and the NPCs do not ramp up as your character/ship ramps up. It does not take long for any battles to be pretty easy to master. After that, pirate attacks or ground attacks are more of a chore than exciting.
You can choose to not upgrade your suit and ship...this would keep the challenge alive, but the battles are pretty repetitive so you would likely get bored if that is your main desire in game play.
You can play PVP against other willing players...but good luck finding any. Most of us don't really look for that in NMS. Each player controls their personal space so you can't just raid someone or shoot them up unless they have set their settings to allow that.
It is a great deal at $30. There is easily 30 hours of stuff to learn and enjoy, even if you find you really don't like the chill approach and need more excitement.
