that freighters also have the option to build entire bases in them, including command rooms, wich you can use to send frigates (up to 30 of them you can overall get and theyll be your fleet alongside the freighter) to missions for extra rewards and such.
these frigates can also be boarded, and have to be every once in a while when they come back from a mission damaged.
other than that, the spaceships you fly themselves have no walk around options, but these are also not classified as capital ships, more general fighter sized stuff. cockpit and functional things
if that answers your question
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1597738579 just as an example out of my screenshot section. this is a fighter i own, screenshotted in the hangar bay of my freighter while i was jetpacking me into the air for a better angle. the freighter hold 9 landing bays, 6 of wich you can fill with your own flyable starships.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1594257857 this is how my freighter looks, but there is a lot of different models. the interiors dont differ though.
the blue light around the "YOUR CAPITAL SHIP" marker would be the docking bay entrance
hope i could be of help, have a good day.
Freighters are able to haul ALL your ships to systems. They are not designed to visit planets due to their size. You can also hail your freighter to you above a planet surface if you wish. Each freighter can have a customised room layout for all your storage as an alternative to a planet built base or farm. They can be a maze of corridors. Currently each freighter type has not much variety to interiors but you can walk around anywhere inside.

You can walk around any of the 30+ or so frigate ships inside and out, that protect and service your fleet alongside your feighter. That can be quite fun landing on them and repairing them as needed and a bonus is the scenery from the outside of a frigate has a real sense of scale and beauty. Quite an achievement.
No Mans Sky is less focused on wonderful sliding doors and interiors of ships for their ornamental enjoyment. It's more about the whole experience of space exploration and adventure in an enormous universe of discovery. That said the interiors and base building they have is excellent and free and the variety gets better and better with each update but remains a supporting role to the overall game design.

Remember the game is procedurally based instead of having bloated game files of custom built models of ship. The potential is that in future updates over time, there will be an endless variety of ships to discover and maybe trade or swap in the future.
You can't take the stick and control where the frieghter flies. You have a nav console where you can set it to warp to another star, but when you warp you're stuck in the "loading" screen / warp effect until you've arrived. You can't potter about the frieghter while it's going somewhere.
I've tried Star Citizen, and I loved it. The vehicles here in NMS don't really compare though.
inside a system, you have the option to spawn your freighter at a location where you want
Just grabbed NMS from the sale and am excited to hop in and see how much better it has gotten since launch. Thanks for all the helpful replies.
You don't fly your freighter directly. You can move it through a system with your normal ship, though. ("call vessel"-command). You need some space to do that. Other than that, you can fly your freighter through the Galaxy, just like you do it with your normal ship. You must access the Galaxy-console for this in your freighter, though. (In your ship, you do this via tha commands.)
But I have also a question: Is there a trick, to communicate with hireable frigates? I can't hail them, and they don't hail me, even if I'm directly above the landing-pod of them... And yes, they're marked as "hireable"...
Another tipp: be picky with your free freighter. You don't need to accept the first one you're offered. If you deny your first offer, just warp several times, and you'll get another opportunity of a free freighter, eventually.
Some truly excellent answers already give.
I just want to add that you can build a farm on your freighter if you desire.
Also extend the freighter habitable area with build modules, observation ports, etc.
Talk on!
(really, don't know how to build that - or do you mean build these "glassy" rooms with the "build-all-everywhere"-Config Change? Are these "secure", i.e. stable to not glitch and fall through?)
On a side note, I was really disappointed with this game's launch fiasco, but I just bought it during the sale yesterday and am super happy I did. I'm really happy to see this living up to its potential. I also bought Elite Dangerous during the sale an am hoping that can scratch any space-sim itches that NMS can't.
So which do you want me to address, your sarcasm or your question?
Very different games; both great. Playing both of them will suck up all your available time and more ..
Dude, he was asking a question. Don't assume everyone is a troll. Jeesh.
