How to find good Multitools?

Visited so many Space station but can find only C ones or a few times B ones with few slots. How can I find an A or S?

Random luck. I was handed a free rank A multitool by an upset vykeen. Check the multitool sales shelf thing, talk to aliens, and wait for RNGesus to bless you.

Talking to random Vykeens, they often offer you a new broken mult-tool, and sometime a pretty good one, already been offered a 16 slots S-rank pistol and a A-rank 24 slots rifle that way.
Station weapon rack sometime have acceptable ones.
There's a random event at alien monolith that offers you a broken multi-tool if you give the right answer.
Best place still is minor settlement weapon racks, if you see an okay multi-tool in a minor settlment but with a low rank or not enough slots, just keep searching other minor settlement on that planet, you'll have a good chance to end up finding the same multi-tool but with more, eventually max, slots and higher, eventually A or S, rank.
Once you got a weapon specialist at your base and once you finish his enire questline, he will randomly offer you a new broken multi-tool when talking to him.

The issue with broken multi-tools is that it will cost you a lot to repair it entirely...

That's about all the places where I've seen available multi-tools.

Also try searching on google for the coordinate of a planet where to find a specific multi-tool, given you got the glyphs to go to that planet, you'll just need to go there and get (buy) it.

They aren't good, but the 24 Alien and Experimental S-class equipment I'm not hit so far (by self).

If you want an adventure, you can check out the portal repository for your galaxy. Players sometimes leave portal addresses to nearby S class weapons. That is how i got my 24 slot S class. They usually leave a beacon and/or com balls at the building location so pretty easy to find.

It is easier now that your ship comes through with you. Remember you have to go home via portal...or you will be stuck in a bad way.

When I was there last time there was lot of troling message pods. This multitool is in the box in NPC outpost.

This post by Kibishii helped me. There is no need to install MODS and cheats to get it. I followed the portal address (Euclid Galaxy ) and then built an exocar to scan and visit several Minor Settlements quickly and found the 24 Slot S-Class I wanted. I think I visited about 4 settlements before I found it. Message modules had been left behind.

So if a place has a certain Class it will stay that class no matter what? I can only try to make it another type like pistol, rifle and so on?

@ Hana Tendou - If devs resets planets one more time this multitool will disappeared. Until that time this one Experimental rifle is a part of planet seed and you can grab it.
