I have been playing it since launch and have over 3400 hours in game and can testify that it is not what you are trying to portray it as.
Meanwhile I cheerfully play on, even if this bothers you.
WoW. All that yelling over naming
Your discovery is erased.
And yes, that is game breaking. Dont start talking about working mechanics, because we have PLENTY of driver/shooter/spaceship games. What we dont have is DISCOVERY, and this game promises it, then BREAKS it.
That is fair enough, I hate baseball but some of my friends love it.
No. Doesn't break it. Look at recent ratings. Lots o' happy players ... and then there is you ... yelling and having a fit about naming. ..
Sad day indeed. Today we lost a valiant explorer, loyal comrade, and an expert planetary renaming expert. I propose we all go out and rename random systems and planets to asdfasdf, qwerty, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, asswipe and so on. And creatures to zxczxczxc, lkjlkjlkj and so on as well.

goodbye WartHog, intrepid explorer
I do see other people's beacons, communications pods, and so on, not to mention their bases. You have to have network permissions turned on though.
Agree, you can see other folks bases and stuff. Just made a trip to my local galaxtic hub and it felt very similar to the community events. Really fun if you want a challenge.
OP is upset because when they do a major update to the game, planets may get completely erased, revised, and or renamed. Apparently, everything should stay the same and be maintained indefintiely so that 100 years from now some goofy kid can find the planet he lovingly named. Pretty unrealistic thinking.
If he had followed the storyline, these rewrites are expected based on the lore.
He also has some issue with bases...not sure why since you can destroy your base when moving to a new galaxy. If you don't, you get half the mats back in the new galaxy. While some folks may stay in Euclid, many of us move on to new galaxies and a base has never held me back.
So sad...
'why?'
"it erased my planet names"

I dont even know what to say here. this is such an obvious troll that I don't understand why this thread is not locked already. Half of us (me included) don't even name our discoveries anyway.
