This game is a complete SCAM! Everything it promises you is FAKE! (december 2018)
Hear me out. I bought this game back in 2016 launch, on ps4. I played some of it, got a decent ship, some money, but at the end, the gameplay just wasnt great, so I moved on.
I always came back to check on it from time to time, came back when they released exocraft and a few other patches. Played a bit, like two weeks, still wasnt good enough.

I am one of the people who like the premise of the game, you know? You see, many people didnt like No man sky because they dont understand the fun of it, and I dont blame them, it isnt for everyone.
So, now we are in december 14 2018, I look up this game on my ps4 library, decide to give it another try, find out theres way more updates and changes since last time i checked. Ok, lets go. I hop in, learn everything, get my old base back, start working on a new farm, begin doing the community daily quests, and all that.

I even completed the Atlas path, went tro black holes, built a lot of mining bases, did a lot of trading, (trade route bases anyone?) got 200k money, started doing frigate missions, get a Sclass ship....
I was enjoying the game you know? Discovered and named like 50 solar systems in 5-6 days. But then the old reasons for quitting resurface. Ive completed the Artemis questline, only to find out that, when you go through the center of the galaxy, you start at a new one, AND you LOSE all your bases. I didnt do it, I refused the Atlas.

First off, why make base building available on a game, if..... by going forward into the game, you HAVE to lose it all? So, we build all these mighty bases, only to be stuck in the same galaxy forever if we want to keep our work?
Look, I took that idea with contempt, but fine, I accepted it. Once I was rich enough, I would have an ultimate base on my ultimate freighter and travel tro the universe with nothing much to worry about.

But then, the game breaking situation comes now. I have logged in today, not a patch day, not an update day, just a common day. Guess what, all my system names and planets, all my personal touch in the universe... All wiped. It was all renamed to their original names.

Lets say a system is Ogloksho VII with planets Mim II and Omega Nulo (names i just looked on a random galaxy). You come, you discover it, you rename it Joe System 23, with planets being Couch and Chair. There, your own silly dumb contribution to the game, your own personal touch on the galaxy, forever for others to see.

ITS GONE.IT GOES BACK TO WHAT RAMDOM GENERATED GARBAGE NAME IT HAD.

ITS USELESS. IT ALL WIPES, SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY CANT HANDLE THE GAME, HELLO GAMES CANNOT SUSTAIN WHAT IT PROMISES. THEIR SERVERS, WITH ALL THE MONEY THEY GOT, AND TWO YEARS OF RELEASES, CANNOT DELIVER THE MAIN POINT ATTRACTION OF THEIR GAME.

With that last drop, I wont be playing this thing anymore, and I hope people stop spreading fake propaganda about this. Giving it good reviews like it means anything. The game is broken, two years now, and is still broken. And it betrays the player.

I would post this review on steam, but I dont own the game on PC, its on ps4, as stated.

Wow, burnt up over a galactic reset. True but that does not equate to the game being a scam or fake.

I have been playing it since launch and have over 3400 hours in game and can testify that it is not what you are trying to portray it as.

Look, I'm playing since day 2 (Foundation) and since then I'm just laughing about posts like these...No fish, No meat, nothing but complaints, potatoes.
Meanwhile I cheerfully play on, even if this bothers you.

WoW. All that yelling over naming

I dont care about any of you who take the lies and still want to play it. It is your decision. But to anyone out there who got lured to this, here is the truth.

Your discovery is erased.

And yes, that is game breaking. Dont start talking about working mechanics, because we have PLENTY of driver/shooter/spaceship games. What we dont have is DISCOVERY, and this game promises it, then BREAKS it.

Not your style of game clearly.

That is fair enough, I hate baseball but some of my friends love it.
babyseal Dec 19, 2018 @ 4:53pm
I'm a noob, and I've played 3-400+ hours. Pennies per hour of entertainment. So I've already got my monies worth. Everything else now, is gravy. From the amount of time you obviously spent playing it...you got your monies worth too. I'm sorry, but the fact your imaginary names, in an imaginary gameworld, got erased, isn't exactly cause for all the screaming, shouting, and chest rending...if my systems (imaginatively) renamed things like "Gek/Affluent" and planets named "Scrap/Storm" got deleted, pretty sure I could shrug it off.

No. Doesn't break it. Look at recent ratings. Lots o' happy players ... and then there is you ... yelling and having a fit about naming. ..

I will agree with him/her in one aspect. Every system I go into I leave one or several beacons on planets usualy near a Trading Post. Occassionally build a small base. It would be nice if the servers maintained the items we leave behind so when someone new comes into that system, it would show the beacon or base. Not a deal breaker for me as I have over a 1000 hours in the game and love the exploring aspect. Great game and all the patches have made it better.

WarHog is on the WarPath, because the planets he named asdfasdf, qwerty, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, asswipe and so on are gone...
Sad day indeed. Today we lost a valiant explorer, loyal comrade, and an expert planetary renaming expert. I propose we all go out and rename random systems and planets to asdfasdf, qwerty, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, asswipe and so on. And creatures to zxczxczxc, lkjlkjlkj and so on as well.

I do see other people's beacons, communications pods, and so on, not to mention their bases. You have to have network permissions turned on though.

Agree, you can see other folks bases and stuff. Just made a trip to my local galaxtic hub and it felt very similar to the community events. Really fun if you want a challenge.

OP is upset because when they do a major update to the game, planets may get completely erased, revised, and or renamed. Apparently, everything should stay the same and be maintained indefintiely so that 100 years from now some goofy kid can find the planet he lovingly named. Pretty unrealistic thinking.

If he had followed the storyline, these rewrites are expected based on the lore.

He also has some issue with bases...not sure why since you can destroy your base when moving to a new galaxy. If you don't, you get half the mats back in the new galaxy. While some folks may stay in Euclid, many of us move on to new galaxies and a base has never held me back.

So sad...

"this whole game is a scam, everything it promises is fake."
'why?'
"it erased my planet names"
#infalliable_logic

I dont even know what to say here. this is such an obvious troll that I don't understand why this thread is not locked already. Half of us (me included) don't even name our discoveries anyway.
