Is there a faster way to the center of the universe?
I did the stuff with the Atlas Path and opened up all the random Black Holes, and I've been jumping through them, but the whole process is tedious as heck. I did get to the Atlas and have the option to reset, but I turned it down, because it said I could explore the Universe and come back, but the Atlas Stations aren't appearing anymore.

I'm about 350,000 Light Years away from the center right now, after like 5 hours of just flying to the center, it's exhausting. The warp drive on my Fighter Ship only goes to about 650 Light Years, so I've just been gunning for Black Holes. The Black Holes take me like exactly 5,000 Light Years closer, but that breaks down my warp drive upgrades. So basically it takes me about 45 minutes or so to travel 100,000 Light Years, when you factor in all the times I have to stop and repair my upgrade slots.

Is there a faster way? Or is this how the end of the game was meant to be? I was enjoying the game until now, but I'm getting tired of spending hours just staring at the seizure inducing warp animation.

If you're on PC, there is a mod you can use that will give you unlimited warp distance. if you don't want to cheat, try upgrading your ship drive to its max and you'll get ca 23K Ly of jump distance which should get you to the galaxy core in about 15 jumps...

WHAT? 23K?! Are you kidding me? I have 3 Hyperlight Drive upgrades installed on my ship, and it says I can't install anymore, so I can only jump like 650 LY at best. How do I upgrade my ship that high? No wonder I'm having so much trouble.

Make yourself a starship for blackhole riding (no tech in general inventory). Upgrade your freighter hyperdrive to the max.

What you need to do is use your freighter to warp to a blackhole that is in the direction of the center, and as far as you can warp.
Once in the blackhole system, jump in your blackhole rider and go trough the blackhole.
Then summon your freighter and land on it.
Rince and repeat.

Once in less than 10K LY from the center, you can directly warp to it and jump to the next galaxy (use the blackhole rider to do so)

That's as fast as you can go to the center without any cheat/mod.

Uh.... also stop searching for the end of the game, there's no such thing... or rather the end will occur in 16 minutes, no matter where you are :3

You can't get 23K jumps. Hari is lying.

I never bought a Freighter. When I started playing last year, they were super buggy and ate a bunch of my items. I thought it was the game's answer to storage containers, as I didn't have the Vault, so I put a bunch of items in there, and since I didn't own the Freighter they were deleted, and I don't think I get the option to buy them anymore due to a glitch, or I ignored them because I heard they ate items even if you owned one? Either way, I don't have one, and I could buy one, if I didn't spend like 14 million credits repairing my ship to get as far as I have.

Does the Freighter not break down, or something? I get it. Sounds like an interesting way to do it though. I'm 287,000 LY at the moment, so slowly getting there. I'll check out the Freighter though, if not for travel, then just because it's a part of the game I haven't had the chance to use before.

I'm not "searching for the end of the game", I've got like 80 hours logged on the game and genuinely enjoyed it, up until I decided it was time to complete the story, which I'm mainly doing, because I'm only missing like 3 Achievements, and getting to the center is one of them. The game was fun, before I had to throw all the credits and resources that I've spent literal months earning, just to get halfway to the center :/

I thought it was weird. I tried looking up stuff about getting to the center, I saw a post somewhere about someone's Hyper Drive going 1,800 LY, and figured it was cause they had a better/different ship than mine.

An explorer with 6 hyperdrive modules can easily reach 3K LY range. You need to take into account that all S-class hyperdrive modules dont have the same range bonus, it vary between 200 to 250 LY per module. Then you got the hyperdrive bonus for a S-class explorer which can reach as high as 64%.
But the 2K LY of the freighter are more than enough because you cant follow the path to the center that far anyway on the galactic map, it gets blurry past 1K LY and then completely vanish, and you end up on your own to find the right direction to the center.

Also a jump trough a blackhole make you travel 5K LY toward the center in a single jump, better make a blackhole rider than a long range explorer. Also it's a good sign that you're in range of the center, because when you're close enough to directly jump to it, blackholes cease to work... at that moment, refill your warp drive, open the galactic map and deselect the star system where you are with a right click... :3

I have my starter freighter (B class) and have all three of the freighter blueprints that you can buy from the space station, starship nanite person. You go to the blueprints and buy them, not in the upgrade section. They cost a ton of nanites, but when I put them on my freighter it says I can warp 1,800 LYs. I checked it, and it worked because I was able to warp over 1,700 LYs.

I have like all of the blueprints I can buy, but I checked, even a Class C Freighter costs like 7mil, and I only have like 4mil at the moment. My current method is tedious, but if I get there, I get there. I guess I could look up a money making method, but those methods almost always cheese any game for billions, and would ruin the experience.

I was kind of hoping there was a hidden warp drive quest or something like that to make my life easier, but if I have to spend hours grinding random quests for random amounts of money, so that I can get a freighter, I'm probably better off just jumping through black holes and repairing my systems, unless I get lucky some how.

Having a freighter is needed because then you can have many different ships. You don't use a good ship to enter a black hole, you need a cheap shuttle with all the tech already broken, no need to fix anything.
ZomBeGone Jan 29, 2019 @ 6:22am
I found a cheap explorer that had 8 tech slots. I filled them with upgrades (they don't get damaged). There are two upgrades that came with the ship in the general slots, but I don't bother to fix them. So I warp to a blackhole, enter it... fight the battle if there is one, warp to the next....

12 tech slot explorer or fighter would be even better.

I'm guessing you can install the same upgrade infinitely on tech slots?

My Fighter only has 4 Tech Slots, and I filled those long ago with Support upgrades I needed, but I'm guessing I should have filled all 4 of those with Hyper Drive, and another 3 (apparently my non-tech limit) on the regular page? That would probably help me a lot, if I could install 7 Hyper Drive upgrades.

Mostly been using my ship as backup storage, so haven't really spared the slots for too many upgrades.

nah... now with all the planets with special loots (burried bones, scrappable scrap and storm crystals), it's pretty easy to grind some millions to purchase your first freighter. Try to make 15-20 millions and you're good to get yourself a 24 slot one (dont bother for the class for now, just try to get a 24 slots).

Because freighters arent just a way to warp between star systems ....
Once you get one, several quests start, first the base building quest that will ask you to build a fleet command room, then the fleet quest, which will ask you to go gather a fleet (exactly it will ask you to send an expedition but at that point you'll have only one single frigate... so better go get new ones first). That will get pretty expensive quick, thus the need for the farming to make units, but once you 'll get your first group of frigates, you'll be able to send them on expeditions which will bring you back a lot of money (and rare ressources too)... to buy even more frigates and complete your fleet.

And once you have your 30 frigates, you can stop worrying about farming money completely....

...and farming ressources too at some point.

P.S.: Also forgot to mention, if your fleet is in the same system as you and one of your combat frigates is awaiting order (not on an expedition), if you get into a space brawl with pirates, you'll get a prompt from the captain of the combat frigate ... then it will jump at your location and start launching fighters after the pirates (usually the first thing you ear, immediately after the loud sound of the frigate warping to you, is "ennemy ship defeated"...and it will repeat at regular intervals of a couple seconds... better shoot fast if you want to kill any pirate today :3)

Sounds pretty neat, I didn't know there were quests attached to the Freighters. Unfortunately, in the hours since I first posted, I constantly pushed myself to manully warp, and I finally got there a few minutes ago!

However, I can't get into the center. I've read that I need a full tank of fuel and have to be on the last star before the center, but I have filled those requirements. I'm not getting the cutscene or anything. Super disappointing after spending like 10 hours trying to do this :/
Guh~hey~hey~♫ Jan 29, 2019 @ 8:09am
Just refill your warp engine, open the galaxy map and once the view have scrolled to show you the center, press the button to initiate warp.
