Edge of the Galaxy
Well I finally made it to the edge of Eissentam. Galactic address 0781:0077:0000:0207. About 820,470 LY from the core. I didn't use any navigation tools, just flew backwards in the map. Not too shabby, I guess. Didn't count how many warps this took (a lot), but from where I decided to start this little adventure to where I am now I ended up building 16 bases and outposts. Many I plan to go back and delete, others I will keep just because. Even have one that I may try building an underground race track on... in...

I would like to see darker space as many have mentioned before. While there are no stars, the unending gas clouds kinda take away from it, but it is still a fun experience.

Built myself a modest shed to chill in as this will be the last one of this particular journey.

If anyone in Eissentam would like to check it out, PA is below. You can also get some capillary shells on a neighboring planet, if you want. Fuel up your pulse drive and go up,up,up.

Now maybe I'll reverse course and get as close to the core as I can, and build a base there. So many ideas of what I want to do in this galaxy. I'm in no rush to leave.

Edit: Corrected distance to core.

My furthest position in Euclid (survival mode) is over 1.1MLY away.

Cool - Do we all build chill pads just before leaving a galaxy? I noticed you did that. I've done that twice. It's like a last indulgence just before sorta dying, even if we do know we probably won't die.

Should make a restaurant at the edge of Universe Galaxy.

What a about a screenshot of the galactic map around there?

That's interesting. When you go thru the core the galaxy map will tell you that you have around 3500 light years to go (to the core) and then it will tell you are about to jump some where around 6000 light years (my last one was 5995 light years. If you minus the 3500 from that, and then minus the remainder from 720 k light years, that is about how far into the next galaxy you are. So for instance, I was making an intergalactic jump of 5995, minus 3500 is 2495. 720k, minus 2495 is around 717k light years from the core -- which is exactly where it put me. So the game itself doesn't actually count all of that extra space. It only counts from 720k light years from the core onward. So very interseting! All this math was done yesterday so it's very recent.

I usually only leave a comm ball -- I am thinking tho I'll leave base computers for ppl that want to claim a base and build without leaving a galaxy. If that's even possible anymore. I did forget to leave a comm ball at Ettiensleen (sorry about that) But there are com balls on the jump off systems before and will be after taht. I am just about to leave Eissentam.

I tore down My Euclid base before I moved here. No intention of leaving anytime soon. Just plan on getting as close to the core as possible without leaving.

My distance was an error, meant 820,470 LY. At my address I am close to center on the X,Y (if I understand the coordinates properly), and can go nowhere on the Z.

Cool, I just got there and am going for the fast run thru, but I might find the portal in this first system before I start the run thru -- i'm timing it for an event on a stream coming up in a couple of weeks. :)

Did build a kitchen in my base... but I have a small seating capacity. Fire codes, ya know.

Intitially from leaving the atmospere the map shows stars, none of which I can reach. I hit the wall on the Z axis. But zooming out and it gets better. Portal visitors can't use the map, but plenty of pulse fuel to be had for a long flight for a good view.

Glad that you enjoyed your visit. Another one of my 'A man without a plan' designs. :)

The "color of space" was originally planned to relate to faction dominance. I don't know if that still holds true. Pre-game alpha and beta plans do and did change.
