You don't sell ships. You can trade up, but thats it.

To trade, make it your primary ship, and fine another ship to exchange it for.

Use your good ship to with the Economy Scanner installed... Find a trading post... Go get a trash ship and fly to the trading post... If you see something you like trade...

You can't sell ships...which is dumb.

You can't.

If you want to remove one of your ships and trade it for a better one, it must be your active ship when you do the trade with the NPC.

Go to a trade outpost, you can summon more than one of your ships and land them in the landing pads.

With your visor you can know the class of the ship and the price, you don't need to talk with the NPC. When you see a good deal hop in the ship you want to trade, so is active, and talk with the NPC.

That's a space station, I meant the trade outposts in the planets. SUmmon your ships and land them in the pads.

You can summon a ship on the ground, its part of the summon menu. That should be what sets it as primary.

What I do:

Go to a trading post (after scanning with my fav ship).

Get there and stand on the top of the building where I can see all the landing pads.

As soon as I see a ship I want (by scanning and sometimes while they're still coming far away in the sky), I summon the space ship I want to trade in - from the top of the building you can summon any ship to land on the ground just between the landing pads.

This method allows me to, depending on the ship that comes, summon the the ship I want to trade. Sometimes you're with a ship you want to trade for a hauler, let's say, but a cool fighter comes to the landing pad and you summon your crappy fighter instead of trading the ship you're flying atm.

It may take a while, but, the same ships constantly revisit the station, freighter hanger and the landing pads on the planets. They work off of a limted pool of ships. just wait, and it should eventually show back up. I'm not sure if you can speed this up reliably.

Yah, one of my first ideas for making a profit was finding and selling ships. But no go.

As for summoning you ship, my solution was to summon them all on the ground next to a trading post on a planet. Then when I see a ship I might want to trade, just hop in and out of the one of that type. Next jet up to the landing pads and make your deal.

Hey with a save editor you could just delete that ship and give yourself that many units. Easy but not as satisfying as making a deal in game. Maybe I'll write a mod to allow ship sales.
