How to get to friends system?
So I have my own home planet, thousands of light years away from my friend who started the game before me. I started my own game but I can jolin his game with my current save,

Now the problem we're having is, when i loaded into my friend game, i spawned in the system he was in ( 1 system away from his home base) so i used the teleporter at that space station so i could jump back and forward to a system near his. So i used the space station teleporter and went home, so now i can go back and forward whenever i like. The problem is, for some reason, when im at my home base and my friend joins my game, he's spawning at his last save location, not in my system like it did for me.

So can anyone tell us exactly how to sav our currgress, join a friends game and spawn in their system? so we can keep our saved data and meet each other and use each others systems? do we have to be in space? can we not apwn in our specific home planet systems? are their boundaries here? or are we doing it wrong?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Send him an invite through Steam when he is in space in his spaceship.
When he accepts he'll have to select a save and then it should spawn him in your system.

That's one way I know it works for me and a buddy, might be more.

This isn't working for us, we were both in space, i invited him, we did what u said but for some reason, he joins my game but he's still in his home system. Any idea what to do?

Hm, not sure to be honest.
Me and my buddy have had times where when either of us joined on the other one, we could either remain where we saved last, or get warped to his/mine system.

Seems kinda random I suppose.
If you put down a base computer maybe he can teleport there from space station or a "portable" one you can build.

We figured it out.

If you log off and relog and start a game (player u want to join must be hosting) if a player then joins the hosts game, they will auto spawn in the hosts sytem.

When you do this does your ship and freighter come with you? Can you effectively use this to permanently move to the same area as your friend?

yes, you can perma move to their system. you can spawn your freighter outside any space station in any case.

Just be careful, since you can only have one such Freighter in a system at a time.

I think you need to exit to the select menu first. Select join a game and select your freinds game.
You should spawn in your ship in the system he/she is in.

I also recommending noting down the name of the space stations so you can freely teleport between both systems.

Find portal, both of u, and share system coordinates. Thaadaaa, this method looks more like a "finding nemo" mission but it's fun lol

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
