Why am I not getting planetary zoology milestone?!?

I bought NMS after the Pathfinder update and always found the planetary zoology and extreme survival milestones a PITA. But with my new save I'm having trouble getting the planetary zoology milestone at all. I spent 6 hours the other day finding all 9 species on a planet and I didn't get the milestone. I've now discovered all the animals on another planet and still don't have the first Zoology milestone! What is going on!?!

Yes and got the nanites. However every time I upload it says it's unable to connect to online discovery services. I still get my nanites and all the icons still turn yellow. This is really pi$$ing me off.

Yes to upload, or yes to clicking the paw icon?

Discovery services being on or off doesn't matter and has no bearing on this issue.

The important part is to click that paw icon and have it turn gold.

Can be a bug if you have a darker square under your total animals in the discoveries log.

Other than it being a bug, the only other thing I'd advise is waiting a bit after uploading the paw icon.

Often its the sort of thing where the milestone doesn't actually trigger as complete until a few moments after. Sort of how the "Aliens Met" milestone often triggers as you're leaving a base/station.

Nevermind. I was clicking the paw icon next to the flora and waypoint icons. I needed to use the one in the top right. Very unintuative... Anywho, all's well now!

Is this still a thing? I do not see any paw to click on and I am definitely not getting this milestone.

Oh, I just figured it out! It's not a paw, it's on the Fauna page, above the list of fauna there is a wide oval box with a message, under the titles field (Minerals/Fauna/Flora) to upload the data and then if you click that message you get a Steam achievement and the NMS milestone.

it will only recognise on PLANETS and not MOONS

And it doesn't seem to give you the milestone on those single fauna exotic planets?

Some exotic planets don't count for the zoology milestone although they have creatures on it. This has apparently changed with the last patch. Maybe this was the reason.

Above all of your uploaded animals is a small bit of writing in a rectangle. Click it to upload the planet as complete.

seems to be bugged still....not sure if the servers need to be online or not for it to register.
