Multiplayer Base-Destroying Trolls

Will there be a fix for this? I noticed a thread with a troll boasting of his player base destructions was deleted. If this isn't fixed, building in coop will be rendered pointless. Why would I coop a build or even solo build something while in online mode, only to have it dismantled by a noxious person?

It's as simple for them as picking up the items, or using terrain manipulator to dig under my build and destroy my stuff.

What needs to happen is for players not on friends lists to be classed as not in my group. Giving creation / destruction powers within my base radius to players I don't know is a recipe for disaster.

I don't believe this is the intent of the developers, so devils advocate who say "It's intentional" are wholly wrong.

If you come across someone doing this, post their player name to this forum and some of us will hunt them down to teach them a lesson or two.

These people are online harrassers and bullies. Clearly they do this to people who they know do not want to play this way. It is online harrassment and it breaks the game.

What I recommend is that you can only play MP with friends and immediately boot anyone you do not know. For now that is the route to go.

Star Bug have you had this happen to you or are you just going by the words of some troll? I have had people join my game and go in my base and try to do things. They are unable to do anything to what I put down. Even my friends building I was not able to do anything with unless he gave permission.

Also if you do not upload the base then chances are you do not clearly own it. This means I come along I can do what I want to it. I noticed the upload function because was needed also to change the name of the base for portal purposes.

Funny how they are trying to destroy the multiplayer that used to be the core reason of all the 'you lied to me' backlash' and would be so the NMS redemption feature. I frankly still believe most people, even the ones who ranted about multiplayer didnt really wanted multiplayer,

I just kick people if they join while I'm at my base for this exact reason (unless they're friends). Otherwise I leave them in game bc I tend to chase them down w/ my ships until they leave of their own accord. :D

Rando's are just pvp targets to me to add some variety in the stuff I'm shooting at. :D

I've not experienced this personally. I'm going by the video clip that was posted earlier and presumably deleted by moderators or developers (why??). He posted a clip of himself destroying another players creation. He also had an angry comment posted on his profile from a NMS player whom he had presumably trolled in this fashion. Also, it's been reported on reddit and other places.

Noob. I have network disabled but I can join your group rape your stuff and you can try and hunt me down and kill me. But you cant join me and rape my stuff. Bring it.

While I agree on being pretty sure it's against forum policy, then maybe they should do something about it. The fact that this is how it functions is asinine.

Just make a list called: "Helpful guys that reminded me to keep Offline PLay Enabled by moving thigs around in my base"

That's not shaming them, that's showing how helpful they were in showing flaws in the game.

Some clarification for you as you appear a little confused:

fake multiplayer - playing a game with bots behaving as other online players
multiplayer - playing with others - multi - more than 1, player.....well you as long as you're not a bot
massively multiplayer - lots of other players (not bots) with you
co-op play - playing with another by its very nature is multiplayer (see above)
single player - a game with no multiplayer

if you upload your base, no one can touch it I thought, as mentioned. So not sure what the issue is. I would like someone since NEXT that uploaded their base actually comment if they have had destruction.

ALso everyone kicks everyone out of their sessions? LMAO, everyone cried so hard for multiplayer. Quit and refunded the game because of not having it. I've not had a single bad experience so far. If anything I see people pop in and gone before I can even say hi.

I was told that destroying a base was impossible. Looks like they found a way. It's pretty funny when you think about it. Nothing better to do than go in & dig holes in other game worlds. Simulating possible planetary conditions like Earthquakes...a tectonic shift...

Turn off network play if that seems an issue to you. It doesn't feel like such a hassle ?
