How to determine the color of a solar system
Let's say I have a Cadmium drive, how can I determine which systems are green? I've tried messing with the galaxy map filters but nothing seems intuitive enough to determine which is accessible by what drive. Is it just me or the colors of the systems don't look distinct enough to know?

Just look at the colour of the star.

If you are finding it really hard maybe check your monitors colour calibration? Not really seeing any issues identifying colours on the galaxy map, but yes zooming out will almost certainly help.

Check the first letter in the name of the star, it corresponds to its color.
F = Yellow
O = Blue
K = Red
E = Green
Some letters might be wrong but you get the idea.

Oh nice. what do the rest of the numbers after the letter mean? Wierd that don't make the letter match the color...like...you know, B = Blue. Sheesh

Eram- I logged back in and I realized that playing on my tv doesn't produce the colors as well as playing on my monitor

Green stars are E class. You need an Emeril or Indium drive to enter an E class system.

They could've just added filters for each system type, would've been way easier. The system colour is not obvious on the star map.

Then you need to tweak the color settings on your display device. I have no trouble seeing what color the star is and I'm light sensitive so I have to turn the brightness down on all my devices.
Unless you're color blind, then you can use the method mentioned about and determine the star by the beginning letter.

https://nomanssky.gamepedia.com/Star_system

There are four colours of star systems.

Yellow star systems (Class F & G) are the most common.
Red and orange star systems (Class M & K), uncommon, can only be accessed with Cadmium Drive, only Red/Orange star systems will have planets with Cadmium.
Green star systems (Class E), rare, can only be accessed with Emeril Drive, only Green star systems will have planets with Emeril.
Blue and purple star systems (Class B & O), rare, can only be accessed with Indium Drive, only Blue/Purple star systems will have planets with Indium.

Try switching to the realistic view on your Galaxy map.

The G map is pretty trashy. They use colors on each filter...and no legend or way of determining what filter you are really on. It would actually be easier if the default colors were obvious, and it was obvious the changed colors for other filters were not related.

It is pretty screwed up right now.

What in the world are these people talking about? If you want to go to a yellow system pick a yellow star. Same with green blue and red. It isnt difficult...
