Ammonia, Uranium missing from planets
Has anyone else had -any- luck locating Ammonia or Uranium deposits on planets? I've been searching toxic and radioactive planets for ammonia and uranium deposits, respectively. But I have not seen a single one. I have been able to sustain myself on Hot and Cold planets on Phosphorus and Dioxite fed into my thermal protection modules, even in extreme storms as long as I keep a good supply on me. But Toxic and Radioactive are missing one of their static resources. Has anyone else had any luck finding any?

I just landed on a nuclear planet earlier that had uranium in little columns all over the place. So it does exist. Silver too, but it was in nodes not actual deposits.

Even has a moon full of grav balls and whispering eggs being guarded by a bunch of pissed off sentinels.

Maybe it's just due to the randomness of my starting position, but my area has at least one radioactive planet per local system, like clockework. I dont even make launch fuel, just stock up on uranium deposits and keep a full stack in every ship + a slot in my capital ship. Also handy to use uranium to refill environmental protection gadgets.

Oh yeah, we know. I used that when exploring an extreme radiation planet, and was really handy! The problem I hit after awhile was having an inventory stuffed with ferrite... which wasn't much of a problem since I was intending on making a metal base anyway. But if exploring in general, that would get annoying to have to zap a lot of rocks, and then dump or store the ferrite.

I am in same boat as OP after 100+ hours of play.

<<Snippage occurred>>

I have not seen the following [edit]deposits[/edit], which the game implies exist:
- Ammonia
- Uranium
- Silver [actually I may have, but don't recall]
- Cadmium [/quote]

Dude...
Desert planet I'm on right now practically paved with friggin silver deposits.
Damn frustrating as I'm looking for copper.
But I gotta say, when I find copper deposits, they are huge. I go through at least three reloads of TM for each.
There's an ecological wasteland around every former copper deposit from my obliteration of plants and rocks for resources to run my low-tech mining enterprise.

Both of these are mostly found as secondary items in plants...

But both can be refined from plants as well.

Gamma Root converts to Uranium and Fungal Mold converts to Ammoinia.

Just sauntee with some salt...

Let's just ignore the people posting "helpful advice" that has already been posted 20+ times previously and completely misses the point.

To address the actual issue, no I have also not found a single uranium or ammonia DEPOSIT in the 80 hours I've played since next came out. I'm on a planet right now that claims to have uranium, salt, and cadmium deposits, but only the latter two seem to be present.

Just out of curiosity, how much traveling do you actually do on foot?
The longer I travel on foot, the more I come across.
I travel VERY far distances on foot. Granted I'm not far in this save so I have not come across what you are looking for but if I were further in my travels (different star systems), I feel that I would.

JTracx, when you find Ammonia, Uranium, or Silver on a planet, let us know, and provide screenshots. If you haven't come across what we're looking for, then saying "I'm sure it's out there somewhere..." is not helpful to the current situation.

Any Planet with Fungal Mold has ammonia.. Most as a secondary element from plants and as a refined element from fungal mold.

Any planet with Gamma Root has unanium as a secondary and Gamma Root refines into unanium.

Silver does appear on planets occassionally in deposits but is plentiful in asteriods as well as gold.

The planet scan just shows what resources are present in abundance. Apparently it does not mean there is a deposit. For planets that show Uranium and Ammonia you will find those resources are secondary resources in a large number of minerals. I just mine ferite or whatever on those planets and get what I need. Not that hard really. Also you can refine Uranium with Phosphorus and Ferite Dust in a med refiner. Ammonia is refined from Salt and Fungal Mold or Ferrite dust and paraffinium

And two more posters get the "Missed the point" award. We're really on a roll here tonight.

Indeed.

I mine Uranium from "Metal Fingers" on certain planets... uhh I can't remember exactly what kind of system they spawn in but you get pleny of that along with other metals like gold and I think even silver.

I did not "miss the point" but you apparently missed mine.
Does that mean you get an award also?

Have? You? Traveled? On? Foot? Much?
If you have, then good on ya.
If not, then get hoofing.
You want to prove it is not in the game then you have a lot of walking to do or low & slow flying.
Just saying that you have not seen it... well, your the higher intelligence one. I'm sure you know the ending to that.

Funny thing is, I was going to make a point of searching. However, since you are such a jerk (yes, I know MechWarden), I cannot imagine anyone putting effort in to "let you know" let alone providing screenshots.
Ciao

The guy is asking for DEPOSITS.

Not metal fingers.

Not secondary from a rock or plant.

DEPOSITS.

I swear we need to define words for some people. DEPOSITS in this game mean something you mine with a terrain manipulator.

If you don't have screenshot proof of a DEPOSIT of uranium or ammonia that you mine with a TERRAIN MANIPULATOR then shut the HELL up. He KNOWS. Jesus Christ you people are idiots.
