Resource marker clearing...

Are resource markers supposed to clear once you've depleted them?

Newbie with about 7 hours to date, and just started to explore a little and do some mining.

Anyway, found an abandoned manufacturing facility and build a small base there, managed to build a terrain mainpulator so I could do some mining. Found a copper deposit and mined it completely (or at least I think so as couldn't find any more in the hole I left in the ground).

Any way, some time later, I did a scan and thought I'd found another copper deposit. Hot footed it over there only to find the great big hole I'd left after mining it previously.

I've since moved to a trading post, but I'm curious if the markers are suppsed to disappear once depleted or have I missed something somewhere?

They will respawn after you been out of the system for a while I believe. Thats why the marker stays.
