How to earn a decent money with larval cores from whispering eggs
You can make a good money selling larval cores (what is inside of the whispering eggs).

Each larval core is worth something around 95k units (basic value).

Before trying, keep in mind that you must have some shield installed on your exosuit enough to take two or three atacks from the creatures and that your jetpack power is enough for you to fly to the roof of the abandoned building.

All you need to do is:

1) stay next to a pair of whispering eggs

2) alternatively perform short shots with your mining beam to open them at almost the same time (2 eggs each time, because if you open more than 2 you will not have time to harvest the larval cores before being attacked by the creatures (Usually they will attack you about 2 to 4 seconds after they appear, long enough for you to harvest the larval cores)

3) reap the 2 larval cores if you are lucky (because sometimes they sink into the ground, preventing you from picking them up)

4) fly to the roof of the abandoned building and wait until the game inform "SWARM SUBSIDING." After this warning, in 20 to 30 seconds the creatures dive to the bottom of the ground.

5) Go down to the floor, choose 2 new eggs and repeat the operation (1 to 4).

Do not waste resources trying to kill the creatures. They will continue to respawn.
You kill one and another one will appear.
Wait patiently and they will return to the bottom of the ground.

Of course, if you have a good shield installed and some ability you can open more than 2 eggs at a time, even with the creatures spawned on the ground, but the method I described guarantees a good chance of success for everyone, regardless of skill and great protection.

A more sophisticated and quick alternative is to be visible to them (on the roof) on one side of the building (after picking up the 2 larval cores) and quickly descending on the other side, opening 2 or 3 more eggs and returning to the roof, since they will have to go around the building to reach you)

In just one abandoned building and a good deal of patience I managed to scoop 33 larval cores which yields me almost 3.2 million units on sale (look my captured screen).

It takes some time, but it's worth it considering the gain.

Try it!

build 3x3 walls around all but 1 egg area.. you need a claimed base computer 1st of course in that area.
then open up 2 eggs that are not walled off, wait till 6 monsters are spawned jump into walled areas 1 by 1 collecting the rest of the eggs as no more monsters will spawn. save 1 egg inside a walled area close to the unwalled eggs, wait for despawn of monsters then pop the 1 egg in the walled area, wait for 6 monsters to spawn inside the wall jump to the rest of the eggs outside and finish grabbing the remaining eggs... much faster and with a base computer there with walls easy to return later for more..
I don't get why ppl often suggest more complicated means. Setting up bases, waiting X amount of time.

I think this is like the 4th time that I suggest this here, just set up a Signal Booster near the eggs, and stay on the top.
I also though that some cores were falling through the floor, but I think the mining laser was destroying some. To avoid that, target the top of the egg.

Milking eggs is boring (do once, ever), much more so than a decent farm chain to make cash.

The eggs only fall through the floor when their parents dig out near them to protect.

I find farming more repetitive than flying around and spend a few minutes getting the cores.
Not really, the horrors won't dig or protect, they don't care. They only care if you are at the same level as them, to tackle.

I just think it is too easy to take advantage of the egg situation. They didn't exist before, it would be like growing refined plants instead of refining them.

Farming is less boring to me. Plus I still want to use those expensive parts to build a ship, but the devs keep forgetting to make the constructed parts useful.... same as the eggs, why not have some use for 1 or 2... a pet for example.
I don't spend a lot of time just grabbing cores, either. I think the max that I did, once, was 2 Abandoned Buildings in a row.
I spend more time boosting though a planet, scanning, digging treasures and fixing machines.
Spend like 2 days building a main base just to unlock things.

Easiest and by far the most "safe" way I've found is:

1. Dig out a hole under the eggs...about the depth of the flight deck to the NPC areas in stations
2. Dig a tunnel at a small angle downwards from the bottom of said hole a few yards long
3. Get down there and make sure you have a line of sight to the eggs to shoot them all. (open the hole up as required)
4. Shoot eggs and watch them drop and roll to you...they will clip through the metal bases etc

Caveat: YOU have to shoot the eggs, a buddy in your group shooting from above and you waiting in the hole will not work.

This is ok for quick cash, but I wouldn't do it all the time as it gets boring....and I doubt this whole egg thing will be left un-nerfed for long. Even the standard shoot and pick them up is too easy for that kind of cash.

well, being as how most egg bases are on frozen or toxic worlds etc with harsh conditions from my experience, its better faster and easier to not wait about farming 25- 60 eggs from 1 base depending on its size.. building walls takes at most 10mins if prepared with ample carbon for the task. jumping up and down for 2 at a time is needless waste of time imo waiting for despawns over and over. the method i mentined is fast for gathering those eggs can be done with about 5mins for the larger bases if not less. making that about 15mins work for around 2-5mil. who really wants to farm for longer for that little units. also marking the locatin with a base to easily return a couple of time over the weekend isnt a bad idea given that early game its hard to get those 50mil haulers and fleet ships paid for.
of course later on eggs even if not nerfed in value or spawn rate wont be good way to make units there are better ways to get them units quickly when you have the ability to do those methods but until then the safer quicker way to hit up 4 or 5 egg locations is better in the long run. i just think the op is making it harder on themselves waiting so long per base for farming is all.

oh and btw 1000 eggs is about 95mil, which isnt enough for some of those ships out there in the S class tier sadly given i have seen some at 120mil price range and im sure there are more above that price tag. but thats just my opinon on how to do it better of course, no one has to agree or follow it. happy gaming to you

There's a whole spectrum of ways to afford anything. Quick dirty cash was this thread, then there's a million times more interesting imo way of crafting 19m items, along with the added bonus of seeing how many million units difference a hauler full has between systems! (yep I was a bored billionair in old save)

I have found that when I farm a location where these eggs are, I leave at least 1 egg and for some reason that causes them to respawn in the time that i leave the planet to sell them and back.

Just put your signal booster out and shoot em from there, can pick them up too.

You can actually just stand on one of the eggs and shoot that way as well. They don't attack at all if you're not on the ground.
