Wondering the same thing, I wish to find a nicer planet, even after spending so much time building my base.

I went to my first makeshift base as to not dawdle on the mission and make more headway but i want to move sooner or later so i'm hoping someone will have an answer

Yes, they'll appear when you rebuild their station.

I'd do it with caution though. I personally didn't encounter this problem, but a friend of mine moved his base and the questlines for his NPCs broke completely.

alright, thanks mate! <3
so...does moving base ruin the questline? i'm planning to scrap my base entirely and move it to a new planet. no idea if it'll work or not.

All you got to do it reset your quest that your on and it'll continue in the base you've moved to:steamhappy:

I have my overseer etc in the second base I constructed which creates this odd situation where I have to go back to the original base to fulfil any of the "build module X" quests.

Yes, one type of terminals per-bases. If you create another base and put your terminal there, your NPC will be there along with the terminals. Any base you visit your NPC will be there, it feels like they know you will go there and teleport or they have massive clone for each of your bases.

So if I build another overseer station can I break the first one?
I've placed down 2 smaller bases. But only installed a teleporter in each one just to quickly get about. I was worried that making them too big by putting in terminals for my "employees", would break the game and ruin it.
However.
I was watching a video on NMS and you know when you suddenly get that "DOH*" feeling?
Well... As I'd been through a "black hole", I assumed I was in another galaxy. But it's just dawned on me that I've never, ever actually left the Euclid one!!
I thought that as I was so far from my start point (I never read the galaxy name on the small map.), I'd gone into one of the other 254 galaxies. :steamfacepalm:
C'est la vie.... Bit more travelling to do, I'd guess :steamsad:

You would know if knew what a wiki was.

Why did you even bother to comment? It wasn't helpful to the topic at all. It was necrod because someone asked:

You replied to the OP, and they had every right to comment how old their post was that they made 3 years ago :)

So, to answer the question, yes, if you tear down your base and make it someplace else, the NPC's will show up at your new base. I would wait till all the bug fixes are finished first though. Never know if something is broken or will break. You could always back up your save and test it out, just to be safe.

Whether you remove the first NPC terminal or not, if you build it at another station, you can summon the NPC to it. You can have a station in every one of your bases, if you like.

While is necro... seems answer is same. And still relevant? Some times necro isnt bad :-)

I was actually about to ask same question as topic lol

I assume that was purely at him and not me. Though I poorly and lazily was trying to say since this is old it might be outdated given how much has changed, but glad to know the answer is the same since I just happened to pick up the game again with the last update.
