Anyone feel the units from scanning modules need a nerf?
I do, heard of people getting a quater or a half a mil per scan with 3 of them installed, isin't that a bit insane? I almost don't wanna use it as it feels like cheating to me.

Going out and scanning at least takes a little work, let's not nerf it.

If it's not for you, then don't do it. That was my approach with camping in a space station and doing trades.

You see how this is optional? Why come here and try to nerf something you can choose to not use? Not very smart there mate. Yous your head other than to hold your ears apart with ;)

They already nerfed trading and ancient ruins. I hope they nerf scanning too, let's ruin every way to make money.

I wouldn't call scanning work at all, its just the amount you can get from it seems a little high with the modules.

Ancient Ruins were optional too and they nerfed it, building pumps and whatnot and selling them was also optional and they nerfed it. Everything you do in this game is optional.

After Atlas I used to get units only from scanning. Rare ceature gave almost 300k. After 350 hours I had 530 million. I also did missions. I do not think a nerf is needed. Considering a good farm can earn you much more. If I had built a farm I would have billions and not 530 million.

What? The fook? Why.. what? It's supposed to be one of the key activities for this title and on release was completely unrewarding. Now the reward from the stacked scanning bonus alone is what makes it worth doing. You nerf that or take that away and we're back where we started with it being a chore not worth doing again. Crying nerf on anything good in a game is... yeah. I'll just leave it there.

I get roughly 65k per flora. And from 100-350k per animal.

How much game play should it take you amass 1 million units? With that in mind is doing missions the only way to make units, or perhaps combat?

Exploration and discovery is a major element of the game, why not allow for it to be rewarded. Perhaps having 3 of the same component was not intended, but when balanced with the cost to get those components and the mult-tool... is it really so bad?

I dunno, 500k for doing something you'd prob do anyway for the nanites? then again, I got one on now that says 1320% bonus, but I am only getting around half what it says. goes from 512 to, 4037 when linked it should be ~6800 or so.

I dunno, i got 2 mil in 10 mins before I even repaired my ship as I ran across a abandoned building and grabbed 22 larva cores. Almost died a few times though heh.

ROFL - I know right!

Do trading or farming for crazy money, this scan method is just ok, also the scan method have limits, you can't scan infinite flora or animals in one planet, you need to move planet to planet, and that is time waste just for few millions, in that time from farming you get alot of more millions and dont need to move.

With three S class scanner mods all linked with my scanner and the native recharge mod I am lucky if I scan a really large animal and get half a mil. Most small animals are between 100-200k and almost all plants are just over 71k. It's not overpowered at all. I can push that bonus higher by stacking another 3 scanners in the tech tree and boost it some more but that's at the expense of 3 tech slots I'm using for shields and jet pack mods.

The reward right now encourages you to go out and explore and scan undiscovered places and things. That is exactly how it should work. If this were a competetive pvp game with a ranking system then yeah, they would have to slowly nerf everything into the ground until everything does the same damage and nobody or anything has any advantage over anyone or anything else until it became so boring nobody wants to play anymore. But thankfully its not that.

This is at heart still a single player game so if you want to nerf yourself you can already do this by simply NOT installing the upgrades to the scanner.
