Good Multitools cost about a million, which might be more than before but is not a problem because:
It is very, very easy to get a few million together nowadays. Finding a bunch of Gravi Balls or Korvax Cubes or Albumen Pearls, plundering one of the big chests, getting better rewards from missions, strong scanner reward bonuses, guild gifts...
Really, after the tutorial and a bit of exploring, you are likely to have a few million.
Unless its different for other players, the first gun upgrade is from an NPC as you progress thru the quest-line.
I didn't have to pay for it, I exchanged my original 5 slot for a 16 slot with maybe half its slots broken, but easy to fix, plus a few tech upgrades.
I am curious about how ship prices could look different between two players; is racial Rep a factor for pricing?
I got ~2 mil in goods before I even finished repairing my ship. Raided a egg nest at a abandoned building. had 20 larval cores or so, and they sell for I think 95k base price a piece. Think I had 22 of them, came to over 2 mil units when I sold it on the space station after repairing my ship.
Just flow with the game.
Soon you will discover many exploit in order to get huge amount of units. I don't recommend to you to ruin your experience by looking up various exploits.
Yeah, I can see that getting nerfed as thats way to easy. I almost feel its cheating so I refuse to use them.
Consider some things cost in excess of 300 million. So good luck scanning your way to getting that. You can also make farms, do expeditions, work for the guilds.
The better models are just there to have something to spend credits.
There seems to be some variables between one game and the next. Personally, I can only net about 300k for my starter ship. In my game, C-classes (apart from haulers) are rarely above 2 million.
I suspect the game inflates and deflates values depending on the economy of the system you are in. You can get more $ selling stuff in a rich system than in a poor.
5 whispering eggs give 475,000 or something like that and you can get around 30 eggs around one building so about 2-3 million a building. I had a new ship before i left the first system and i've never played this game before >>
Edit: to be clear i had a ship worth 8 mill before i left the first area, it was class C but a haulder with 25 slots it wasn't to bad but saving up for a decent hauler, i also have a rank A fighter--- cause haulers dont work in multi-player....
Ships vary in type, class, slots, and modifications and all of those factor into the price. You really have to pay attention to the details. I saved up the 20mill for a 38 hauler only to find that the price had changed to 112 million when I found it again. Same NPC ...BUT now he was flying around in a class A hauler that looked exactly the same and had 48 slots.
They ships are totally randomly generated so yea example
I found a 25 slot hauler on the first world worth i think was 6.5 mill but moments later another one landed was like 36 mill it's really dependant on the number of slots it has. The more slots the price seems to sky rocket. A great example is... the fighter i have right now has around 20 slots i think, and i barely paid 2 mill out of pocket for it. But was a fighter that had LOWER stats that had 36 slots and it's price waslike 46 million or some bull lol, so yea the ships are totally random but if you wait around a trade post long enough you can get decent ones. Heck my co-op buddy has an S class exotic and he didn't even pay 10 mill for it.
fear not though, some commodities you can create with some effort sell for up to 18 million.
