I can't stop playing this game (literally), are you the same?
Not only is this game really good (lots to do and learn, looks pretty) and fun to explore in, but I also find I can’t stop playing, literally.

I keep feeling the need to “go back” to this game and “do more”, whether it is building up a Base, doing another Mission, trying to learn the rest of a Language, earn more Money, find a new Ship that’s bigger, anything – I keep having to come back to this game, in the sense that I can’t actually play anything else… really.

I’ve tried to play other games (ones that I like to play), but as soon as I go to start them up, I think “oh I could play NMS instead..”, and there it is. I’m going to keep trying to just start some other games up, but in a way, this game is literally stopping me from playing other games.

Now, I have to state that I do have ADHD, which keeps me from getting to, basically anywhere. For instance, I’ll have to go to a “Source of Signal”, or just some Crash Site on my screen – but on the way, ‘oh look there are these Animals to Scan/Discover/Register, oh and there’s an Unrecognized Plant, oh and that Deposit of a material I was needing two Broken Machines back, and oh now that I hit Scan there are these other things in the distance, like Buried Technology and Alien Eggs of some sort? Oops the Sun is hitting that building just right, Screenshot!’ - and then it has taken me two hours to get to that “Source of Signal” or the Crash Site that was actually up on my screen the entire time, and I am too pooped (or have to poop) so I have to stop for now. That is, until I try to play another game…

I don’t know if they have some subliminal things going on in this game ('I swear I heard voices saying things near Ruins and Temples, and what do these Glyphs mean?' lol) or if the sheer mass of items and things to do are triggering some latent OCD (“I have to remember to come back here and get these” - which I never do - or the impluse of ‘Before Leaving This Planet Forever: “Scan All The Things!”’), I don’t know… All I do know is that I’m having fun apparently being addicted to this game, can’t stop (literally, have I said this term enough yet?) and have to, have to, keep coming back to this game. At least at the moment.

I was thinking that there should be some Warning on the game somewhere:
“May Trigger OCD impulses to Complete/Collect items”
or
“May Trigger ADD that may hamper getting Missions/Things done in the game world”
or something along those lines...

Maybe sufferers of these conditions can actually USE THIS GAME as a form of Therapy..! Yes, slowly training themselves to think “I’m not going to scan all those things on the way, nor am I going to collect from those deposits I’m seeing, ok or collect those Eggs either, ok or investigate those buildings I didn't see before, but I AM going to go STRAIGHT to where I actually need to go, THEN maybe go back and do all those things..” - maybe this game can actually help people like me, as some sort of Therapy device. That would be nice...

Anyway, I’m having fun being addicted-slash-obsessive-slash-distracted as I wander my little universe over here. I just wanted to say that I don’t even know if I can play other games for the time being, as the pull of this one is so strong…There is just so much to do and see!

Are you the same..?

I do get sucked in with the incredible amount of stuff to do but I've been getting better at dropping a save and just calling it when I've got stuff to do like go to bed at a reasonable time, etc.

im going to be honest here
The game is good and i dont really like to slate it but the more i play the more bugged out missions i encounter and its sort of ruining the game at the moment.
I would restart a fresh game BUT there is no guarantee that a fresh save will not throw up the same issues.
Besides my above gripe ive enjoyed what ive played of the game.

Bugs stopped me from playing the game. When i realized that animals are all passive, quests are broken and many features are not working i simply lost my will to play the game until most of them are fixed.

Yeah there's for sure issues with the game. Biggest one that bugs me is how enemies infinitely spawn. You can't beat them, you can only destroy them until you get bored or they destroy you.

System Authority is the worst, only way to lose them is get into a station or destroy them and warp to a new system before the reinforcements trigger.

I can't stop playing either. I hope that I get bored, but I don't :D. Got stuck in the last mission, because of a bug, so I have already warped manually 8 galaxies (currently in the 9th galaxy) while I wait for a fix. Going to warp as many times as I can, until the bug gets fixed. That is the only bug that is very annoying. I don't usually care about bugs, I have played Ark for over 500h (the most buggy game in the history).

Bugs ruined it for me.

I can't stop playing. I have encountered a few bugs but so far not so bad. I play survival so its a bit tuffer than normal i hear. Really loving the progression so far and i haven't even got into exploring space yet as i am just farming and building up income to buy a decent ship first.

Not only can I not stop playing, time while playing seems to go by at a uniquely fast pace. I hope to run into some game breaking bug soon so I can catch up with my responsibilities.

its definently reignited my interest in it, the various bugs make it hard to play for forever though.

if they can focus on bug fixes and community events rather than revamping content and creating new content, the game should have a happy healthy life.

experimental is A LOT less buggy. I wished they would have required a fresh start for everyone. With all the time spent reporting bugs, looking for help in the forums and just outright complaing Anew game would have put some players at least half way or more to where they were. not much end game content anyway.

Playing a ton

every mission bug I have encountered I have been able to fix myself

Never claimed it was, just said it was an issue that bugs me. Maybe I should have said bothers me instead.

The atmosphere alone is addictive. And I love the fact this is one game that will let you just sit back and enjoy the atmosphere if you want, instead of bugging you every 2 seconds with a need to eat, drink, fight an infection, deal with fatigue, use the bathroom and any other unnecessary simulation of a real life biological need.

My savegame glitched out and died... So the game forced me to stop. Now I lost total interest and wont play again for a huge while. Was fun while it lasted though.
