The Purge Quest Broken (patchwork fix)

DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DO NOT WANT A MAJOR QUEST SPOILED




I am attaching a video I made of the bug I am experiencing so I will not explain it again here. Anyone else stuck or have any insight or ways around this? I see many people out there posting on this and getting absolutely no fixes or workarounds. I am also posting this in General Discussion and not Bug Reports to get a little more visibility from the community. I also have submitted a ticket on this with Hello Games but it seems in researching this quest that it has been a probelmatic one for a long time.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that you should click 'Save Changes' as well at the main tab window of the save editor for every change you make just to make sure everything sticks properly. Ok, off to bed...

Steps:

1) Get NMS Save Editor : https://github.com/goatfungus/NMSSaveEditor

2) Open the Save Editor and Save As into a new slot and work in this new slot.

3) Use Edit Dropdown at top Toolbar and hit Edit Raw JSON

4) Search for the two instances of Act3_Step2 and change them to Act3_Step3

5) Under one of the Act3_Step3 will be a line for progress
if you want to go collect the glyphs, change progress to 1
if you want to get this over with, change progress to 89 and remember to give yourself all glyphs in the discovery tab.

6) if you have blackhole/portal glitch, or just wish to clean this up pre-emptively, before doing final warp (glyph 15/16) you need to goto StoredInteractions, hit Ctrl+A delete, then add the following to that area

With just those two brackets the game will reinitialize stored interactions, this MUST be done before the final warp for cleanup.

7) Enjoy

Noticed the same thing. Also affected by this bug.

I thought the quest was to force you down the Atlas Path. But that quest bugged out too since the Atlas location doesn't actually give the blueprint it says it does. Meaning both quests are bugged for me.

This quest has been bugged in a way or another for a long time. Can we can get some attention on this? If you are experiencing this then please reply so we can draw attention to a game stopping bug.

Ok i hope ya'll all see this as well as the devs.

I was working to try to fix this, and finally advanced the quest and got my dialogue box.

I had AP Anomoly mission to bring species data to polo. As well as I had The Purge.


1) I called in the station, and landed, tried to talk to Nada, got softlocked.

2) I went back in, and swapped mission to the anomoly mission, since i was on the station allready and talked to polo

3) after completing talking to polo I talked to nada, and he gave me the dialogue.

I'm seeing if this all worked right now but feel free to try it, better than trying to save edit right?

update havn't had more requests from him and proceeding to see if quest updates at the end of the core line

Download save editor and activate all the glyphs. You need Java for the save editor to run properly.

After that warp to a random system, you should start getting purple messages and the quest is starting to progress.

And make a backup of your saves before using editor.
Also you can try to edit code line.
In the save editor choose "Edit">"JSON RAW", than find the line "ACT3_STEP2" and change it to "ACT3_STEP3". Save and exit. It could help too if you don't see quest progress after activating all the glyphs.

Yea glyphs havn't done anynthing, will try changing active mission to step 3
