Echoing "clapping" noise?

I've been hearing this occasionally and I haven't been able to figure out what it is. Its a loud "clapping" noise that echoes as if someone is walking down a concrete hallway clapping loudly. There isn't anything special going on usually when it happens, but I'd like to know where its coming from.

I have heard "static" or scratchy popping even when the game's loading shaders is going on (maybe earl;ier too), but assumed it was added sounds. So far I have not heard that in-game. I do hear pops and similar in shuttles while at slower speeds, which I think is intentional.

I recorded the video without any microphone on, the jack not even connected to my computer. All sound was in-game.

Plus, I always use headphones when playing games on my rig, including while recording that video. Thus, echoes from speakers are not plausible.

Finnerty, everyone doesn't have their microphones on or play wearing a headset including myself, so assuming that is the issue for the noise isn't logical.

I'm not hearing that particular sound, but I've had a recurring bug for pretty much all of Next where I will hear what sounds like a Vy'keen grunting somewhere nearby, even if I'm on an empty planet in a system without a single Vy'keen. Always the same sound. It's creepy.

And my character is not Vy'keen, obviously.

Sometimes it seems the sound gets stuck in a loop. I often hear the rain hitting my ship even after I have left the planet and I am in space. Just another bug. A reload and it is gone.

i get this noise, too. I think it supposed to be big deer-like animals crashing their horns - like they do ....

None of the animals joust for dominance in the game, so that idea is right out for making the sound.
