When i press P there is also no new questline
You must scroll the list maybe, if still you don't see it: make sure you did update the game correctly.
There is nothing new in the quest log and im 100% sure im on 1.7.
I warped to a system with a water world and i indeed found the new sea creatures and plants.
I was in the middle of the Artemis quest when I first got the update, and didn't have the new quest. Once I finished the Artemis quest, the new one showed up. Are you in the middle of another quest like that?
I joined and MP session and the quest started just after entering the game.
I dunno, all I can say is I did saves, loads, warps, returns to base, and such and no new mission, but as soon as I finished Artemis, there it was.
I was flying through space in my starship (not freighter). I picked up an unusual comm signal. Very mysterious. Coordinates were for a planet in the star system I was currently in. A ship crashed in the ocean and I was gonna check it out.
I flew to the location and landed (after deleting a now obsolete mod) on the nearest island. I installed the tech for the scuba gear that was transmitted in the distress call. Then I went for a swim.
Down and down I swam, about 900u from my ship, until I found the wreckage and what looked like an under water bathyscaphe or diving bell.
In the clear domed structure was breathable air. This allowed my opportunity to search the wreckage. I found in the data the plans to build my own structure and, eventually, a mini sub.
I left and went back to the mission I was working. I'll come back at some point and explore further.
It's quite possible there's bugs that might stop some players from getting the space comms.
I have another game of a traveller started at release which i stopped playing - this one got the quest directly in the log. Does not really help, I don't want to start over with a long abandoned old traveller.
So it seems if no one else has an idea, I can just stop playing until they may be fix it in a few months :(
