Chlorine?
Is chlorine ever sold at space stations or by other ships landing at space station or frieghter? I have been trying for days but no luck yet.

Do you have the medium or large refier? If you do salt and oxygen refine to chlorine.

Otherwise it's a common secondary element in plants or minerals.
Don't think so. Purchasing most elements in general is not the most effiicent way of aquiring them. Find a planet that has chlorine listed, you'll find tons.
It is easiest to harvest from the planet. It is often a 2nd part of minerals. You have to scan to find it. I believe if you do a planet scan it will tell you if it available before you land.

I want to say I have seen it rarely as a purchasable item, but get it and Ammonia mixed up because of the same color scheme so could be wrong on that.
thx. i do have large refiners. is there some formjula like the de hydrogen onoe or somethng like that, that lets you go back and forth to up your supply??

Oxygen is the key ingredient. To expand your supply. I've never tried chloride latice to see how that works.
Go to a radioactive planet and find plants that offer chlorine as a primary element. Get tons of it there.

Also, you can refine salt into chlorine with the personal refiner. Salt is more common than chlorine, I think.

Do you mean infinite?

1 Oxyen + 1 salt = x3 chlorine
1 chlorine = x2 salt

If you have the machine to collect oxygen, you won't never need to go out for mining salt

Another formula:
1 Oxygen + 1 carbon = x3 condensed carbon
1 condensed carbon = 2 carbon

You need carbon or condensed carbon for oxygen machine
i've seen it listed at trade terminals in "my systems". but i think it's more efficient to get at least the middle refiner and make some chlorine yourself. you just need di-hydro and oxy to make salt and then refine it to chlorine.
mix it with oxy again to make even more. but you need 2 slot refiner.

The genius of NMS is the variety of ways to approach life in space. As suggested, you can go prospecting for chlorine, you can do chemistry, or you can send out frigates on missions (once you can afford frigates). A common reward is Chloride Lattices, which refines to tons & tons of chlorine.
Look for Floating Crystals and Curious Deposits. They both show up as a yellow (|) symbol in your analysis visor and contain, among other things, Chloride Lattices which, as the Red Master points out, can be refined in any of the refiners to Chlorine. There are also Organic Rocks which can be mined for Chlorine or Mordite.
Chlorine is sold. It's not hard to get large quantities of it though via chloride lattice (crystals, depots), and it's possible to stretch it a lot with artful refining.

What and WHAT?!? You most certainly can buy chlorine (and pretty much every element other than the rare crystals, gases, and carbon) from space stations, and I don't know how anything could be more efficient than teleporting to a space station and buying it.
You get it on space stations from the NPC ships landing on them.
You just need to buy a little and then you can multiply it with refiners like the the others have described.

Well, either they upped the amount of basic elements in stock recently, or I was always looking at the buy price by accident. Maybe I just had bad luck with chlorine showing up as I just saw it now, but then I'm usually never in a need for it.
In space stations visit the locked off Atlass Pass rooms and the same locked rooms in buildings on planets. You will need the Atlass Pass 2 and 3. Inside you can search plant racks for a regular supply of all kinds of resources like Salt, Mordite, Cobalt etc. Salt you can then refine like the Kelp Sacs for Chlorine.
