Uranium question
So can you find Uranium in large deposits like you find copper? I've yet to find one.

Only place I've found Uranium deposits is in those things the game calls "fingers". Looks like orbs fused together. They take a while to mine, but do contain around 200 uranium each. Each time I've found one, it's been in a clump of 3-4 other fingers.

The fingers seem to be fairly rare, even on the planets that support them. In the early days of player development it is very advantageous to search for these, but in my experience when you find a clump of them, 2/3 of them are going to be gold instead of uranium. Once I could afford it, I found it much easier to find large amounts of uranium for my gamma root farm by going to the space station and buying it from fellow travelers as they land.
you can get uranium from plants. you have to refine the plants to what you need. gamma root -> uranium with refiner

Uranium is cheap and the exchange terminal on most space stations sell it. I would never waste the time trying to mine it.
Scan for Metal fingers..
Best, easiest way, they're usually on most planets.
Gotta say metal fingers..

Based on a thread that has gotten large and somewhat ranty,
No, there are no mine-able Uranium (nor Ammonia) deposits in the game. There are other sources of Uranium, like in secondary elements found in rocks, and in rare finds like Metal Fingers (which can give Uranium regardless of planet type), but there is nothing you can put a Mining Unit on.

This is possibly a bug in the world generation system.

same, its big waste of time trying to find those fingers.

Metal fingers indeed.

Gold has its use once refined into Pyrite as it can be used in place of Tritium.
Nice to never have to stop between planets to blast space rocks.

Gold and Silver (which are both very easy and cheap to get) also refine down into platinum, which refines into nanoclusters.

Metal fingers, found in your multitool's scanner (F). They're not abundant but they can be found. When you find them mine all of them.

Tritium is sold at almost every station and it costs only 7 per unit. Just buy it.

Not everything is a damn bug. And every element cannot be in abundance the way YOU want it.
I don't know where that came from, assuming I believe 'everything' is a bug, and I'm just miffed because I can't find it fast enough, and should just shut up and look harder. My statement was based on the observation of fellow players in another thread, and we concluded that there are no Uranium deposits on worlds that should have them.

It isn't a game breaking bug, but it is still a bug nonetheless. That isn't to say Uranium isn't obtainable, but that it isn't found in that form.

If you can find a patch of minable Uranium (as in, can place a mining unit on), in the current version of the game, please post a picture of it, and how many of them you have found on a given planet.

I think is a bug but you can refine Ferite with Radon to uranium.

Hmm, I might do that for my base on an extreme radiation planet, since I can't put mining units on things that don't exist (yet). I already have 3 oxygen harvester in my other base, so something like that could be convenient.
