Galaxy Question (Spoilers)
When you pick a new galaxy at the end of the Atlas Quest Line, (Green, Blue, etc), is there any distinct advantage to doing this or can you happily stay in your current galaxy? In other words, are you suppose to advance the story line by eventually picking all 4 galaxies (doing the story 4 times over) or is nothing achieved other than new environments and planets.

Nothing different other than a new galaxy. The first time I did it, I believe i went to a different galaxy and then I loaded into a friends game and I'm pretty sure I ended up back in Euclid. I found my old original home base etc.

Last night a friend and I went to the core in Euclid and warped to the center and went to the next system, I forget what it's called.

But yea, it's just a new galaxy to explore. Someone else with more experience could chime in with better info.

I think you get the rememberance once you go to a new galaxy or is that when you finish the quest line with what's her / his face .. I forget the name.

You get Remembrance whichever option you chose, namely

1. Reboot Simulation and create a new galaxy
2. Refuse to reboot the simulation

Both options will update the quest with "you are free to explore".

there ARE dinstinct advantages (and disadvantages too btw) by the fact that planets generations on a system is not the same on the 4 different galaxy types.

So yeah there are reasons to get to an other one if you really want or need that RNG boost toward a certain type of planets
https://nomanssky.gamepedia.com/Galaxy#Galaxy_Types

for instance, if you go to the green galaxy (Eisentam), you'll get far more "earth like" types of planets with NORMAL OR RELAXED sentinels.
You can litterally bet on at least 1 earth like planet per system if not 2-3 sometimes, and very rarely all 2-3 of them will have agressive sentinels.

So if you like those types of planets, then yes you may reconsider.

Now if you are one that don't care much about those planets, and is fine having home base on a frozen or a barren planet, then nope, you have almost no reasons to go to an other galaxy.

Raging galaxies will have far more extreme planets, so unless you really really love them that much, I'm not sure it's that funny

And abandonned / ancestrals will have far more dead planets which IMO lacks a lot of content to be that funny to make them worthy.

So yeah I MUST disagree with that statement alone

Now depending on what you're after, one can argue if it worth the hassle, and that's a whole different topic

When you change galaxies you will have to make a bunch of repairs in suit and ship (you might want to use one of your other ships when you go). And you won't have access to your old bases and teleports from the new galaxy. But the green galaxies sound like a place I would like more if I decide to move. Also, if I am not mistaken I believe that even if you choose not to go right away, there is still a way to can change galaxies later.

Of course :). Hell I did it just to do it. I've only been playing for a couple of weeks now and have already done a stasis farm and made way too much money. Now I went to the second galaxy, started another base and I'm more interested in doing missions, assaulting freighters, exploring underwater etc.

I mean the first galaxy offers everything you'll ever want but if you want to hit another galaxy to see more, then by all means! Nothing wrong with that. I wasn't trying to go against travelling.

Do you get to bring your freighter and other ships stored on your freighter with you into the new galaxy?

Yes.

The only thing you really loose are your bases. I haven't advanced again since next, but you get some of the resources back you just need to build a previous base reclamation device in the new galaxy and take your stuff out. Just be aware that you can't put stuff into it and anything in there will remain in there so use only as needed.

All good, but then indeed then YOU were correct too, because the second galaxy is an imperfect one, so it's indeed the same kind than the first one.

That's also why you may not have felt much difference between both.
So to have different feelings just hit more and more galaxies.

Now the only "issue" is that if you look after the following galaxies after Euclid, the 3rd one will be a raging one
4-5-6 are imperfect as well (same as 1 & 2)
7 is an ancient one (more dead planets)
8-9 are again imperfect ones
10 is the first tranquil galaxy.
That's why it's the largest "leap" you can make without going through all galaxies if you choose from the colored "orbs" in the Atlas storyline

Every of each brings you to the very next one in that order depending if you chose it.
So choosing raging will make you go directly to 3rd galaxy, while choosing ancient one will make you go to the 7th one.
And "unfortunately" if you choose the imperfect one, that simply brings you to the second galaxy... which is a bit of a shame. Now ofc if you made it through the second galaxy on your own, and then choose from atlas station, you'll be dropped in the 4th one if you choose tranquil at this time

Also, I personally don't care much about a tranquil or an imperfect, but I like to choose the color of my galaxy center... very very futile choice isn't it ? that's why I like the 13th one I'm in currently

Thanks for all the info! Just to confirm, no new story line plot is revealed other than the rememberance stone if you go to a new galaxy?

Went to a new galaxy last night there doesn't seem to be a new story plot. Not any different really than staying in euclid, except maybe different spawn rates of certain biomes depending on which colour galaxy you pick at the end.
