Game not updating to latest experimental branch

So my game did update to the latest experimental branch however my other halfs is not. We never had a problem like this before. He tried taking it off experimental and back on to experimental and it just wont update to the latest version that was released. Anyone else had this problem?

Also wanted to add that we do not use mods of any kind, we both are set to the same region for downloads. Our computers are right next to each other. We have compared folders and the EXE I have says Date Modified 8/24 so today and his says 8/15. We just cant figure out why his wont go to the new experimental branch. He opt out and back in and still it will not do anything. He even tried validating the files. Nothing. Onlything we can think to do is completly uninstall and reinstall but that sucks.... haha

I think there is a problem with missing (hidden) slots on exosuit and starships. Maybe they blocked the download until they add a hotfix. Just a guess.

Exactly my thought as they pushed it out with glaringly obvious bug, probably put a pause on it and may revert.

That would make sense then if they blocked it. I am going to hope for this then. I dont want to play without him.

Mine did the same thing, had to restart steam and then the update showed up as pending in my downloads.

Yeah we tried that though and it isnt updating, it acting like there isnt any updates for it. We had that happen before on other games and restarting always worked but in this case it seems to be a different issue. I am thinking that Tashine is right and they may have put a block on the update for now. I dont know what else it could be.

Delete the NMS.exe executable then check file integrity

Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries

Right click NMS and click properties | local files | check integrity of game files.

should fix it.

Opt out of beta and opt back in and it will download. This happened to me and my son. I did that and it downloaded.

Don't ever delete anything, tell people to just rename it or move it to desktop or back it up to avoid any unforseen problem.

Oh yeh you did. It's 4am here, so I have an excuse. Weird though as it did fix my problem.

Mine was also fixed by verifying file integrity, but i had to launch the game, save, then exit game before repairing for it to finally download the patch. make sure to check the build ID you started with to make sure, since theres the downalod of the "corrupted file" and then the actual update

Well his game just finally updated for him. We did nothing and it finally just started on its own. Wierd.
