Is there any difference between the Sentinel & Venator Freighters?

Other than those names being completely made up? Nope. All frieghters have the same bridge and the same build area. Just different slots and hyperdrive stats.

Frieghters do no damage. If you actually played the game you would know this. There's a reason you have to help save them from pirates.

Now frigates on the other hand can and will wreck you (only combat types).

All capital freighters follow one of two unique designs and are very much able to defend themselves, unlike the regular freighters.

If you actually read the link i posted, you would know this.

The design is cosmetic only. Turrets are irrelevant as only a combat frigate's sentinels do damage.

The issue is not that freighters can't defend themselves, the problem is that freighters often choose NOT to, including your own, which usually just sits there and does nothing... not because it can't, but just because AI is dumb in this game currently in general.

Exactly. Which is why they are cosmetic only. 9 time of 10 not protecting your ship will result in all of it needing repairs as it won't do anything.

Sorry but I have to challenge your statement "Frieghters do no damage". I just tested this by flying close to an NPC freighter after attacking it, making sure to be as close to its guns as possible while sticking far away from any starships/frigates. Trust me, they do deal damange. Yes, they do have a problem when choosing when to and when not to attack enemy pirates, but they will damage you if you're not careful

Bunch of poo. I've seen freighters destroy pirates with their green pew pew turrets. So..the more turrets, the more pew. Bigger freighters have more turrets. The sentinel freighters are pretty awesome because they have a whole lot of turrets.

The frigates. Meh. Never had any issues with any of them, including the combat frigates. The most damage I've ever taken while pirating was from larger freighters with lots of turrets. Even then...hardly anything. It's stupid easy to be a pirate in this game.

NPCs due little to know damage to each other. You can watch pirates attack a freighter all day and none of them will die. But they can and will damage players.

Wrong. Try attacking a capital and see what happens. I did the other day and I had a dozen turrets laying the smack down on me (and no it wasn't the frigates either)

one thing to note is Sentinel class has more of those round ball storage than the venator class does.

i love coming across Sentinel classes in space rescue missions when i dont need a freighter. bigger pay out for stuff to steal lol
