Look at DOOM 2016, released around the time of this game, actually got rave reviews upon release, and is now 20 dollars.
Nothing to do with supply and demand, that doesn't even make sense for a video game. There is unlimited supply of the video game.
Literally nothing to do with supply and demand lol.
It sounds like it got better, but I'm not going to spend 60 on a game that was trashed for years after release til they finaly got around to fixing things. Even good games I wait for price to lower because I think 60 dollars for games is a bit obnoxious.
But this isn't about if the games good or bad or a waste of money, but why the price is STILL so high.
Look at GTA V. That game was full price for years.
The base game is 30 dollars, and if you bought the base game and all DLC upon release it would have cost way more then 60 dollars, I believe over 100 at least.
You're actually proving my point, that's another game that had the base AND DLC drop in price post release.
ANd it did get pretty good reviews, just not from the diehard fallout fanbois because it wasn't so true to past fallout games.
True but at least they're a AAA studio but it looks like it did take 3 years before it finally went to 30 bucks. Still a bit long for even a AAA studio and such a good game.
I guess that is another example, which there aren't many of, but at the same GTA was always popular, great reviews, great game, and probably great sales so they thought it's deserving of the price.
My point is this game flopped hugely, was considered a joke, becamse a bit of a meme, and after 2 years is FINALLY sort of getting some positiviity, but probably too late to salvage it's reputation. Not quite a game deserving of such a price for so long.
Yeah recently a top seller because there are no other good games coming out atm and it got some updates that people liked so a bunch of people bought it. It's trending for a week or so doesn't mean it's this amazing game that has been so great for the 2 years it's been out.
AAA studio
Infinite games cost more bud!
You are looking at it from the wrong perspective. Now all of a sudden NMS is getting a lot of positive attention. More people are willing to give the game a second chance. Those who refunded, those who never got it because of the community outrage and new players are all reeled in. Keeping the base price at $60 guarantees way more sales when the game goes on sale. People like to feel the got a bargain... that's just how it works. On the side they're making a ton of extra money from all those people who are too impatient to wait for the game to go on sale. A win win situation. If I worked at HG, I'd advise them to stick to the $60 for now and go on sale every now and then.
It's just smart bussiness.
