To be able to choose, you have to do the "Purge" Questline.

if you go to the next galaxy via center.. you will always travel to the next galaxy in succession. the only option that gives you a "choice" is to complete the artemis storyline.. no spoilers if you haven't done it yet. you get a choice though

The purge quest says: progress towards the galactic centre, path towards the galactic core and the final atlas interface.
What should happen now?
Well... Reach the final Atlas Interface :) You will be presented with a choice of 4 different galaxies. Choosing the calm one will put you farthest down the line at galaxy #10 Eissentam as far as i know
Thats the problem, there is no atlas station, no interface at nada and polonor somewhere.. i had a message on my ship afzer leaving nada and polo, i choose "seek the final interface" but nothing shows up
If you have not followed the Atlas Path, then do so. Basically you're going to want to visit 10 or 12 Atlas Stations. Other than the distance your ship can warp at one go, there are not constraints on how you get to them, so feel free to explore along the way. Right before NEXT dropped, I was able to complete this and make a choice on where to go next, but did not have to do all of the required Atlas Stations before making the choice. This might have changed under NEXT, but I went back to playing that save and am now being prompted to visit the last station. No idea what happens at that point, but will find out eventually.
EDIT: Atlas does not want to talk to me at the final station. My suspicion is that I more or less completed the Atlas Path storyline, just without collecting all of the seeds along the way. I was able to finish that in the new galaxy and the Atlas Stations were behaving as expected in producing the missing ones, but the last station has no dialog with Atlas. I just stand there, so it looks like it's head for the center for me.
About atlas quest: i have installed the star seed in my exo suit and have give birth to a new stat, i traveled trough the black hole afterwards, but nothing happens.. quest now says: discover
And the purge quest want to find the final interface..
Anyone a idea? What am i missing? Its a new save after next update
"The Purge
You tell Nada and Polo what you discovered in the Atlas Interface, and then you will activate a Holo-Terminus to comunicate with the other Travellers, but they won't respond. Then, the Atlas will ask you to travel to the center of the Galaxy. After warping to another system, Nada will contact you and warp the Space Anomaly to your system. Upon leaving the anomaly, you will be presented with options to finish this storyline, to complete the Atlas Path, or go back to exploring freely.
Provided that you choose to complete the story, you will need to warp to 16 different systems (note: the game will tell you to travel to the Center, but warping in any direction will count towards the mission). While travelling, you may receive messages from Apollo and -null-. Then, a Portal location will be revealed. Activating and entering the portal will take you to an Exotic planet and, after a 16 second countdown, you will be teleported to an Atlas Interface. The Atlas gives the choice to ........ "
