Did multicolored grass get moved to another Galaxy?
I miss the pink, purple, bright green, yellow, etc. grass from Pathfinder. But when I look at the NMS Next cover art I see pink trees. Is those prettier color planets still in the game but in another Galaxy? Right now the only grass colors I've seen after visiting over 200 star systems is dull green, orange, and dull blue...

Grass doesn't mutate it changes color based on the light. Kinda like how things in real life can appear a different color when exposed to different wavelengths of light. Also, get out of the starter galaxy. It's not supposed to be the best the game has to offer, it's where you start.

I think they dulled down the colors a bit for the new universe. It does seem more realistic but also a lot like real life so I kind of miss them too.

Overall, I think the vistas are more impressive and they really dialed out the "tube" worlds. Use to hate those because you were always going up and over-unless there was a handy under. No way you could run an exocraft on those worlds.

Variation in planet colors has taken a huge hit in NEXT and it is to the detriment of the game.

Yes -- So we have rings on planets now (who cares?) but we get the same blueish green grass everywhere.

hi zorro.

i have been to lush planets with blue, green, orange, red and one purple (grass). i have also visited a blue star system that had a complete monochrome planet, everything.. including grass. pretty cool.

the only thing that strikes me as different than pre next.. is all the water planets i run into. it seems every system i go to has at least half the planets covered with water. have also seen a few planets with nothing but water, no sizable land mass at all. just a a few tiny islands. and i had to fly around quite awhile to find those.

good hunting.

Screenshots? I'm at over 200 systems and haven't seen ANYTHING resembling the grass like I remember in Pathfinder. Only dull blue, orange, and dull green. No pink, multicolor, purple... The only vibrant grass now is the orange. VERY dissatisfied with their lie of "more variation than ever" - everyone loved the colors the game used to have and now it looks like crap. The vistas are indeed better (especially the skies) but the actual variance in each biome is completely gone. You have more biomes now but the color variance in each one is practically gone. Every blue grass planet looks like every other blue crass planet. Every orange grass planet looks like every other orange grass planet. It didn't used to be that way.
