I Want To Cheat Money & Nanites So Bad

Seems like everyone has had one issue or another with quests or bases or whatever...

Here's what happend to me.. I had a 30+hr save going.. I had many decent ships and a 20 slot A class MT with decent mods on it.. I was rather far along in all the story lines.. and even managed to get up to the armor qst line done... And dozens of systems explored...

THEN this morning...... NOTHING in my base works!! Nobody talks to me... I cant progress in any of the missions in my log...

So I look in my folder where I keep my Back Up saves i make at various points while playing.. I would loose about 2 hours... OK enough... so i delete the info in HG folder and copy over the correct file from my save folder.... I have done this many times with 0 issues... BUT not today...

My entire save is currupt... all the way back to the first save after i left the starting planet... So i delete all my save's and check to see if theres a problem with the game... Nothing fixes... So I un install the game and re install it... and then copy over my save... Still Nothing..


So after hours of grinding money and missions for Nanites and searching for buildings and all that other fun stuff im forced to start over once again...

I choose not to dupe, or cheat as it ruins the game for me... But at what point should i stop caring about money ingame as all i want to do is see where the story goes and maybe get to the center of the universe...

Yeah stop worrying about the grind, You have a ship, so just go have some fun exploring. :D

If the value of your time allows you to restart the game all over again and not duplicate stuff, I think it's OK. It's a personal decision. A lot of people value their time in different ways so they would a) give up the game entirely or b) use a glitch to get to where they were before.

I have nothing against either of those decisions: dupe or not dupe. It doesn't impact anyone else and keeps people ingame.

One thing I know, if the grinding weren't so bad, people wouldn't find the duplicating glith so appealing. The truth is that a lot of poeple simply don't have the time to grind and mine all the time so they can progress to a point where they just want to explore and not care about small things like lanuch fuel, pulse fuel and mining carbon and ferrite dust all the time.

Your game was broken for no fault of your own (as far as I understand) so whatever you do is OK. No one else can criticize you either way as it is you time, your game and your life.

Never explore you MUST make enough money to fill a spacestation with it, before that it is you not allowed to proceed with the storyline

I can show you how to edit your save game if you want. I only used it to make my game go from normal to survival and fix stuff bugs caused. I also move ship slots neatly as I have ocd and seeing slots randomly plastered around piss me off hard core.

I don't cheat though.

You can refine stuff to make nanites. Also, ask a buddy to join your new game and give you a starting capitail in goodies.

Yea ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I have 4.2 Billion units and 40K naniites. Now I can focus on what really matters.

Up to you. Since it bugged out i would replace what you lost, and only that.

I can understand needing to use the editor to work around a game bug, but using it to give your self the best ships/gear/etc I simply dont understand. While it is primarily a SP game, you are cheating yourself out of playing the game as it was designed to be played.

Why bother playing a game when you basically use "god mode" to play it? Part of what you pay for a game is for the experience of playing it, so in the end you are basically throwing your money away since you aren't getting the full content/experience of the game.

* Faster scanner
* Faster Mining laser
* x5 words
and using shipseeds to give ships with the right stats a nice optic

= far less tedious, but i cant say that my experience would be flawed.

That’s exactly what I’m doing. Part of the experience is garbage and not worth my time. I need to be done with a game in 300 hours or less. So I throw away the parts I don’t want and play the rest.

What I would do if I were OP is find a mod or use save edit to give you some kind of boost without giving all the money you need...

Boost your mining laser. Or like me use Instant Scanner.

Speeds the game up but doesn’t end it right away.

Once you get going you’ll have plenty of money and nanites and feel better about your progress.

Did you verify the game files before deleting them?
Also, join a co-OP game since that fixes things for some reason.

Otherwise, do as ZZZ said... just do not over do and ruin the game for yourself.

I have installed a few mods... mostly those that change the RNG.. increase in scan time... stack size... and found a trainer that works... for money and nanites...

would be nice to join a random game from time to time instead of spending what play time i have save farming for a ship or multi tool... im about 2hrs in with my current mod set.. have not maxed units or nanites just yet... its a matter of time after seeing a S 48-8 hauler with the design i want... or a S 38 fighter...

I wont ruing others games... but i want to see what else this game has to offer...

i believe they fixed the 'no base npc talks to me' issue just now in a patch

did you know that just with a max upgraded exosuit alone you can carry a grand total number of 36000 items with you? thats not even including your 3 exocrafts, your base storage, your freighter and your starship.

ontop of that you can teleport items towards your base storage from anywhere you are, and you can teleport them to anywhere you want (from storage) if you are near your base. you dont even need to access your storage. yet you still need more stack size?
