Gold Silver Platinum - What a Pain!
Gold Silver Platinum - What a Pain!

Standing in the middle of a great cave for mining.

I’ve a refiner set up in front of me and all around me is cobalt and carbon plants.

I’m mining away and refining Ionised Cobalt as I go to make lots of money .

500 units = $200,000 bucks

when son of a gun the next rock I hit is garbage it’s just miserable pure gold,

useless cheap yellow s**t and even worse, sometimes I hit silver and or platinum.

Well platinum ain’t too bad but salt would be better , still all these garbage rocks are messing up my plan!

(It’s called ironic sarcasm)

Todays prices on some items on Eartth

Current price sea salt $40 USA per metric tonne
Current price gold $39,300,000 USA per metric tonne
Current price silver $476,000 USA per metric tonne
Current price platinum $24,99,000 USA per metric tonne
Current price cobalt $64,242 USA per metric tonne

If you want to make money fast you should go trading. Trading is ridiculously simple, easy, no risk involved and makes money fast. Judging by how much of a grind the rest of the game is, it feels hopelessly overpowerd.

And once you are filthy rich, you just bought all your necessary supply. My farm now are just for cosmetic to decorate my house.

They should nerf the trading by 90% and let us make the commodities ourselves instead. Now there is absolutely zero effort involved.

There are materials specific to each systems economy; and those materials tend to go to one specific economy for sale. Bought typically from galactic trade stations.
I happen to be in a shipping economy system right now that has "Encrypted used data, Star silk, Comet Droplets, and Ion Spheres" These items can be taken to and sold in 'Advanced Material' Economies for great profit.

Why do peeps have to use as a measurement what is the real stuff ? while you are in a game ?

- By your standards, you should simply not be able to hit next planet in... minutes (or less) because we don't know yet a technology to go faster
- Tell me when IRL you can visit all planets from a system ?
- Tell me since when IRL when you mix silver + gold that gives you as a result platinium ?

I just really don't get the point of your post...

Is it a rant against how difficult it is to make money in game (which IS if you count on your great tactic of mining that stuff...) ?

Or a rant against prices not set like IRL ? which is a facepalm moment as you chose what was relevant to you at this very time, but you probably dismissed all the other things that are as equally as improbable compared to real life...

Anyway... A rant post is usually not when you get better answers... asking how usually get's you more positive feedback... so if by any chance you were indeed in hope to get ttips on how to... here are a few more. Now if it was just a rant just becauise you felt like you had to, sorry no one can help you.

Now.... if you still do it like that, you are probably still in early game... it may be time to settle and build a base as the game's prompt you to do...

Medium + large refineries are your friends go get them

I just can't remember when I last time mined cobalt.... because cobalt along with easy to get oxygen from oxygen extractors (you get them from advancing in the base or base computer missions) is nearely an infinite grow.

Better know too that chromatic metal and copper can provide an infinite loop... can't remember last time I mined copper.
Anyway a link so you may rethink how to get some materials (worksheet not done by me, all credits go to the guy who did that amazing job)

By the way, a very nice guide on how... just remember the guide was done BEFORE NEXT, so peeps had to jump with ships.. now... make great use of teleporter ;-)

Sry BonPadre ;

You so badly missed the purpose of the post that I'm sorry but any explanation will be probably be lost on you.

It was in no way a rant and I sure as heck do not need tips as I've more than a little experience in this game.

In the current fresh start game I'm playing . . . I am exploring caves and mining

WHY because I f-in enjoy exploring caves and mining.

Really guy!

Is all the game means to you is how fast you make money LOL

sry that's sad.

Grinding isn't gonna get you far mid-game and beyond. Well, it is, but it will take much longer. Better ways are:
* Trading items from system to system (purchasing discounted and selling in another system where they have high price/are high in demand).
* Farming crops at base even, then crafting them into expensive stuff to sell (though that itself involves some grind or purchasing of resources to set up, and having blueprints of the things to craft).
* Stacking missions (accept a whole bunch of missions at once and along the way, then, if you have a lot that require to kill tons of sentinels, just kill some and they'll all pretty much complete along the way).

Chlorine is better then cobalt.

Anyway, trading is even better. Ive set up trading routes between trading posts in a dozen systems laterly. You can just built your portal right next to the trade terminal lol.

So ???
Yes indeed I just don't get ANY of the purpose about your post... indeed...

I do understand you play the way you want, I do the same and I don't care about units as well just because I do what I want to do in the game at the moment I want to do it....

So... why do you even bother to post anything like your OP ? does it have any meaning at all ? any purpoose at all ?

Why do you even answer to me specifically ? I guess all the posters above me indeed completely missed the point of your post as well.

Anyway, since I have a feeling thios post will soon turn into either a big mess or just plunge deep in the pile of usless posts... I'm out
Have fun doing whatever is fun to you... :steamfacepalm:
