rescue battles in space

Hi,

I've rescued a cargo in space, captain has offered me the cargo, I've sent the cargo in space for a mission etc...it works as expected...at the moment the cargo is somewhere in space to accomplish its job, so everything is fine...

Recently, I had a second rescue mission, as before the captain has offered me the ship, I've accepted it, but it seems it has replaced my first cargo. Is it really the case ?
Anyone to clarify/confirm that, please ?

I've some stuffs in the first ship, I don't want to lose it, if I cycle into inventories I cannot find the first cargo. That's not really clear for me as it seems it's possible to manage a fleet

if you are talking about freighters, you can only have one freighter. you can trade it for another, but you can only have one.

thats only part what he's asking. you enter into another system with a freighter being beat on and help them with the battle. after battle the captain offers to sell you the freighter but you get ZERO option to transfer cargo from the previous freighter. if you decline the offer you are unable to purchase the new, possibly better, freighter. Oh, and if you DO go for the new, possibly better, freighter you LOSE everything in your previous freighter.

losing the base editing is understandable. new ship, new quarters. that makes sense. but to lose your inventory kinda hurts when you are not expecting this.

I suppose it's freigther, the game is not in english for me.
Thank you that's what I was suspecting, I've been surprised as there are no swap panel as it is for ships.

After losing my stuffs, it's a total mess now, I'm stucked into that big ship, I cannot leave it.

I'm playing in permadeath mode, +-35h for that "savegame". If you have an idea how to manage the situation, it will help me. At the moment I don't see how to leave the freighter

It is reproductible. The ship in front of mine won't leave as it is one of mine (broken ship, it comes from a claim on a planet)

I sometimes get that issue when switching off the pulse drive too late when approaching my freighter

Some things to try:
- reload the auto saved game
- if you have a second starship swap to that and try it
- try warping the freighter itself to a different star system, preferably one you have never been to before

You can swap the items in your old freighter to the new one before pressing 'Buy' on the screen where it shows both of the freighters and their respective inventories. It is usually mentioned in the UI unless you have disabled tips or something though I agree it might not really obvious if your are new to the game.

In short your stuff in your old freighter is gone and since you are on permadeath you might have to reload a manual save backup if you have one before buying.

I didn't see it I've swapping ships before, 3 or 4 times, it has a something like a compare button which allows you to move your stuff from one to the other. In this case I had only 2 buttons, if I remember well Accept or Cancel.

As a terminal allows to manage your fleet I was thinking, cool another freighter for my "fleet". If I've well understood a previous message in this thread, it's not possible to have more than one freighter.

I've "fixed" the problem of stucked ship, I've lost my stuff: unfortunately it was my "relics", the items you find in big chest, I don't know if it's a major loss (I don't read spoiler), I just hope they were not unique items and needed to finalize a quest or something... :)

It is the smaller capital ships, Frigates (Trade, Combat, Exploration, Industrial and Support) which you can have many (upto 30) which you can manage from the fleet board on the Freighter.

Relics are useful for finding portals from Monoliths but you can find them from green crates or receive from talking to Alien races.
