Try and make sure the waypoint target isn't in your scope when you try to land.
Same thing happened to me recently. I had to restarted the game.
Ive submitted a bug report.
Just have to wait now.......
They already know about it and even addressed it a little in one of the recent updates. If it's related to the tag function...
I have had the "E" interaction not work on other items and a reload did fix it.
Figured it was one off oddity, and now I hope they fix it.
I had that happen also, what caused it was having a bounty mission spawn. Once I despatched the him the pad returned to normal and I could land.
A RELOAD will work as well as a full restart for this bug. I run into it too from time to time. I also often notice that even if you have a green landing cone at a Trading Post, or even at your own Base pad, often times the ship refuses to set down. Even if you MASH the button.
Something to do with the game thinking you are flying too fast, or coming in from the wrong direction or something. The game gives no feedback for why it won't land the ship, which makes it an obvious bug.
I reported it a few updates back. I suggest everyone in this thread who is dealing with this does the same. That is how HG prioritizes their bug fix schedule. "Squeaky Wheel "and all that.
