Best place(s) to find an alien multitool?
I'm looking for any alien multitool and I'm wondering what is kind of places have the highest chances of an alien tool being there.

For example, do I have a better chance of finding one on a Flourishing Korvax Red system or a Failing Vy'keen Green system?

I don't think the system is relevant when it comes to multitools - although I haven't found an Alien one in a Korvax system as I recall - have found Experimental in Korvax systems, Alien in both Gek and Vy'keen systems.

Best hint I can give - talk to Aliens, visit monoliths and small settlements (with landing pad), check shipwreck sites, as well as space stations.

Exploring is the key to finding impressive multitools

Ah okay I'll try to do that rather than going space station to space station. Do anomolies also carry alien multitools?

Possibly in Anomaly too - I haven't seen one there, but I don't see why not.

Of course if you save before jumping to anew system you randomly generate a different multi-tool each time you reload and jump again.

It is a bit exploity though and does take the "thrill of the hunt" out of it.

I had luck, I suppose, that in my first space station, even before I went to space, some Vy'keen (also the very first Vy'keen I talked to) replaced my 7-slot MT for one with 21.

Or, maybe everybody has that? I don't know. I do know that I've only once found one with more slots: a 23! This was in some random minor settlement on some random planet. I wanted to pick this one, but because I presume you lose all your installed upgrades. So, I went outside to create a manual save device (maybe I could have done that inside the station as well but I somehow presumed I could not) in case I want to role back to my 21-slot MT. But now the offered MT was only an 8-slot.

^wow so it's basically rolling the dice.

I hope you did more searching than just in this forum? because there are hundreds of posts with tips. Now I have a 24 A class alien tool on a survival save, and a reg S class 24 on Normal and have been happy so, let me share a couple tips. First think Alien planet, then go find it lol, Radiation planets and Toxic planets tend to be the best. And this is why/ When you load a save the game uses the Tables for they system and planet you are on at that time, If you are in space (SS or CS) it uses a base form with modifiers for system types, That can help if looking for Experimentals, as the odds are somewhat higher in an Experimental Economy, anyway back to the jist. The Location and the slot numbers stay the same for everyone, so If I find a 24 slot S class tool Anywhere, It would also be an S class 24 for anyone else, what can change is the type/name/stats, based on the current table from the current load. Ok take some time go over that and it will make more and more sense as you go. OK SO If you find a spot with a regular S class 24, Drop a beacon. go find a toxic or radiated world in the system, go to it drop a beacon and save, then reload your save so it builds a new table based on that world, go back to the S 24 and if your lucky Bam it's an alien tool.. NOW NOTICE I did not say save right there at that outpost, because occasionaly that will cause odd things (no I won't elaborate). There are other things involved that get complexxxx like how portals and warping or using the terminus to switch systems can affect those dynamics but to keep it simple, Find a large tool any class and do some tests for yourself doing save reloads on radiation and toxic worlds. Yes there is much more you can do like using the save reload to keep repeating the Previous mentioned alien dialogue till you get a S 24 which can also be done and if on the right world can also lead to alien or Experimentals. And your base weapons smith and space ports and polo etc. but most are very unreliable because it can take soo many tries
