Save editing
So i wanted to edit myself to galaxy 255-ish or whatever so i can fly to the center and return to euclid and i found the save file and have the backup copy, why do i need the save editing tool as opposed to using a Json editor and changing the reality index with that or just opening it up in notepad and changing the reality index there? I've seen people say that i need to re-encrypt the file using some nomanssave_tool 1.1 but for the life of me i cannot find it, is it necissary to use it? someone help me i think i might not entirely know what i'm doing here tbh.

The current save editor has a JSON editor built in. In the drop down menu look for 'edit raw JSON file' or something.

And you would want to use Notepad++ with plugins and the savetool if you want to go that route. My original save is too big for the (Json) editor, so I had to go that route to delete some ships. If your save is small enough, just use the editor.

But if all you want is to get back to Euclid, then why edit to the last galaxy and then jump? Why not just reset the reality index to zero? Then you will be back in the starting galaxy.

I thought i have to edit to 254 and then jump back to euclid? I used notepad ++ to edit myself to 254 and from my understanding i was still in the current galaxy until i go through the middle and transfer to the new one no?

Also when i edited to 254 it couldn't establish a connection to the servers anymore and i was basically playing offline, is that how it would be from that point on if i did that or did i do something wrong?

Also i just tried this, reset the index to 0 and jumped to a neighboring star, still in the bunldlegar galaxy or however ya spell it, which is unfortunate :-/

And using that it'll still let me be connected to the online servers too right?

Your changes may not have saved properly. That can be finicky, IME. I wouldn't try doing both reality and location at the same time.

And never do this while on your freighter!
