What to do? - Warning: Mission out of range! ...
"Hold MMB to restart current mission and use nearby structures"

Maybe for a seasoned player this means something, but not to me.
Of course I already tried pressing on the MMB but nothing happens.

Could someone elaborate on this cryptic message?

- What I do know is that my mission got affected by a multiplayer session.
But now, how is this message supposed to help me getting back to the original mission?

Thanks

You actually just need to hover over the actual mission and then hold middle mouse button, I actually struggled with this the first time as well :)

NMSPlayer ^ gave you the solution. For the meaning, it's supposed to mean you are in a system really really far away from the quest system.

It is a function that resets the mission. Your bug will be resolved.

This 'reset' mission feature is only there in the case where you get stucked in a mission, it should normally not be used. It will respawn waypoints in your current system once you have moved far away enough, meaning at least 3-4 warps away or going through black holes.
If you would get stucked in a generic mission (taken at space station), then you would just 'abandon' the mission in your log, resetting the mission is not offered.

If you get 'out of range' message, it's obvious what you need to do: re-enter the system where the mission takes place. To do that with ease you must have unlocked all teleporter functionality (warping 3 times at least).

My mission is stuck and saying out of range. But there is nothing to indicate where i should go back and restart.

My mission is that main mission Patterns in Time, gek cartographer.
How do i find where i need to go?

Check the station or base teleporter, stations tab, see if its listed that way. I recommend to google that troublesome little ♥♥♥♥ before doing much with that portion of patterns in time. What you spend 10 minutes researching might save you a lot more time in game play and frustration.

I did check my home TP, then i went to space station. None had that red mission marker. And i did look that issue shortly, so far i didn't find anything but i will continue looking.

Check this thread.

I'm wondering if you can see the missions origin from the galaxy map? Maybe you are close enough to warp back to that system?
JP Sep 27, 2020 @ 12:54pm
I did find in some other thread that in galaxy map, that green line takes you where the mission is. Took me a while but i did find that right place. But those missions are bugged. I get a task to do 2 missions for him. I have done 5 now and it is still stuck on 1/2.
E:
Or not bugged, i may have figured it out. Going now to see if it was what i thought.
E2:
Ok it was what i thought, had to do certain missions for Gek, those 3 others are for other factions and do not count.

The missions you need to do are "Gek" missions specifically. The guild missions will not apply to the current quest.
