Gravitino balls
I'm having trouble finding Gravitino balls. I've been going system to system looking for barren planets with those balls on it and I can't find one. In my home system, I have a planet that is a high security planet. I've heard those Gravitino balls would be on high security planets. So where can I find a planet with those?

Why are you looking to find them naturally when you can complete farming missions in your base and grow them without needing to find one ?

Either grow them yourself or they can sometimes be found at trading posts for purchase.

On high security planets they'll sometimes be little orbs on the ground, but they won't light up until you get close to them. Unless I'm mistaken, they also come in another form of a plant when you get close to it it'll shoot an arm up into the air with the gravitino ball in it. They won't necessarily be barren planets though. The ones I've found were on regular planets.

If you have a farm you can grow them, and if you keep an eye out you can sometimes buy them from npcs or at outposts.

I have been doing the farming missions. Does the farmer give you a location of to where they are at?

No when you complete the missions, you should get one mission where he asks you to grow one, and from there you should have the recipe to be able to plant and grow that one

EDIT : so look closely at your farming building parts you should find the recipe there to plant it

Well yes I know, And those blueprints usually require the actual item to plant it. Like Gamma Weed, for example. I figured the Gravitino Balls required some before planting.

Yes, I realize that now lol. Honestly, I kinda feel stupid. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.

Been awhile since I have done the base quests, but IIRC you get the seed for just one. From there on you will need more to plant. But with patience use your harvest to expand. Edit: Or maybe not. Been awhile since I planted any so need to go back in and check that.

Finding them in the wild is fun. Just be ready for a fight. I have never found the stalk type, just the orbs on the ground. I usually find them on hostile/lush planets. Scanning the planet from space can help you locate them, though still hard to find when on the surface. Happy hunting.

Thanks!

You really only need to grow one plant. That is my preferred method anyway.
Harvest it and store them until you have 10 then sell the rest as they are harvested.

I would say store 10 (at least) before selling extras. Youll want some more at some point, and its a lot nicer to me to pull from storage and replace those later than to sit there waiting on it.

Why not just grow more? The more you have growing, the better off you are, right? Only one harvested gives me 8,000 something units, not like the 25k I've been hearing about.

They dropped in price in updates. Used to be big $$, but not now. Yet still needed to build certain components. IMO best to plant just a few as to not use up valuable farming space. Grow and harvest, fill a slot or two so you always have some ready, then sell the excess.

Maybe I'm missing something about farming, but I can't imagine it's fun or exciting to stand still for things to grow.

I don't think most players stand still and wait for things to grow. Just stop back by the base to harvest via teleporter and then go back to exploring.

The benefit of farming is that once the farm is setup the manufactured products are worth alot and let you get units more quickly to buy freighter and/or ships more quickly. Plus, throughout the game you need circuit boards, acid, heat capacitors, glass, living glass, etc to build other things.

But I agree you don't want to stand still and wait for things to grow. Just come back to the base to harvest and create product, and go back to exploring if that's your thing.
