Galactic coordinates?
During the course of reading some posts, I have seen some ask others if they "have the coordinates" of a particular location. I did some research on NMS wiki and learned that one can retreive the coordinates of any location in the game using the signal booster, and can then enter them into an online app which sychronizes with other peoples location.

My question is: Is there a way to enter a known set of coordinates inside the game and then warp to that location? Thanks.

you can warp other location with the portal coordinates. exemple my portal is 2031F96ACE6C iF you put that coordinates in any portal you wrap to my planet.

I don't know where off hand, but someone made a calculator that generates portal addresses from galactic coordinates, and vice versa. A few searches should yield it. I tested it with my data and it works. It is the galactic coordinate of the star system that signal boosters show you. The four or five capital letters it gives before the galactic address might be the location in the system, but I think it's actually just a semi random distinction for sorting within the save file of your game. I really don't care myself. I record them and may know what they are in the future.

the app is probably this one

AFAIK, nope. You can use a portal or teleport terminal to a known terminus in game, but to teleport to a different GA you will need an external app. Not in game currently.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. I have been doing some really long quests lately that have racked up a huge list of star systems in my Discoveries, which has pushed my home system and 2 other systems that I have harvesters set up in way down in the list. My concern is that they have set a limit as to how many star systems can be in one's list, so maybe my home system and 2 harvester systems will drop off eventually. I was hoping to record the coordinates in the event that happened some day.

On the good side, I finally found a Freighter Warp Reactor Theta yesterday, so now I don't need to be adding to the list as much. Still haven't found the ship WRT (after visiting 48 Gek systems and Polo giving me every blueprint under the sun EXCEPT the WRT), but I guess that's moot now. It would be cool though to be able to enter coordinates within the game, similar to how its done in Subnautica. :)

you can always use a space station to portal back to your base, so there's no danger of losing where it's at. that warp engine i think is given after you've been on an extreme planet for long enough.

The normal WRT is given as the last Polo achievement, and requires zoology 10.

What good does having star systems in your discovery list do? Can you somehow teleport to any on that list, or do you just select it to highlight it in the galactic map and have to find it and warp to it?

You can visit any planet that you have the port glyphs for if you have found all the glyphs that are needed.

On a planet you want to know where it is... Build a signal booster, look for a monolith.
Go to the monolith and ask for a portal location.
Go to the portal and power it up and ask for the glyph sequence for the planet.

Then from any other system portal you should be able to use a portal and return to that system.

Thanks, but that that doesn't have anything to do with having that planet/system in your discovery list, right?

The only way I know of to get to previous systems that I've visited (other than portals, which, of course, have their downsides and limitations) is to teleport to the space station if it's still in our teleport list, or somehow find it in the galactic map, which is useless if you're 3 black hole jumps away. Is there another way that I don't know about to use the discovery list?

Yes. You can "set waypoint" on any system in your list by activating it either with the left mouse button or the A button on a controller. When you then open the Galaxy Map you can cycle thru the paths to the "Custom Waypoint" path. That will show highlighted the system you previously just set. I have just discovered today that when the Freigher has all 3 Warp Reactors there is no limit to the range. However if the custom waypoint is far enough away, you may have to follow the trail to find it, which can be fairly faint.

That said, I have not yet used a black hole so I don't know if this applies to different Galaxy Systems. I have read some postings of people losing their bases after jumping thru a black hole, and I have a huge manufacturing base that nets me 240M every 2 hrs, so I don't want to take that chance, particularly when I have not yet become interested in whatever might be in another Galaxy.

Black holes don't take you to another galaxy, just a long (generally > 1M LY) ways from the starting point. I don't think it would be possible/practical to warp back, but teleporting to your base still works.

240M every 2 hours? What do you do with all that loot? :-) You'll max your loot in 16 or so hours!

Yep. I'm on my second game. I started game1 in Aug of 2016 when the game came out. After over 1100 hrs in that game, I maxed it out in several ways. So, l started a second game from scratch a few months ago. On my way to maxing it out also. :)

Only this time, in game2, I am gathering any/all blueprints and tech, which is taking time due to nanite gathering. I still have game1 saved, in case the next DLC provides more opportunities to buy stuff. That said, I read a posting yesterday that said the devs may not continue this game much longer, as it has not been as "profitable" as they expected. We'll see. If they don't, well I can always start a 3rd game. :)
