Mainly id love to play with my friend who is on PS4. I have it on PS4 also but i prefer playing on PC.
Exactly this. The game doesn't have a "competitive statistics / esports" following like CoD and others. Back in September of last year, I read (with a TON of glee) that Epic "accidentally" allowed Fortnite players on PS4 and Xbox One to play together.
It's not a logistics issue. It's not an incompatibility issue. This was controlled by the actual company that handled the game. All Sony has to do is say "yes" to this one particular title and it would draw more attention to it. Sony ratings would increase (albeit a little bit, not a ton)- and it would be an immense step in the right direction.
As Epic was able to do it "by accident", this tells me that Hello Games should be able to implement it as well- but they would just need Sony's blessing to do so!
For some weird reason Sony also really doesn't like cross platform. Take Rocket League for instance. Everyone could play with each other, regardless of on what kind of platform they were playing...except Playstation players. Fortnite still has issues. And it has a lot to do with Sony's end. They just don't seem to like to open up their playerbase to that of other platforms.
assuming multiplayer will be a different gamemode, there's no reason to annihilate the old saves in order to make multiplayer cross-platform.
I'm not sure how this adds anything to the discussion but no, I don't leave reviews in general. With the amount of trolls on steam and how innaccurate the reviews on steam are I don't see the point of them. If something interests me based on pictures or description I'll look at some let's plays because the reviews here on steam are pretty much useless to me. I am aware I have weird tastes occasionally and things that bother others don't always bother me and things that others go meh over I get enthousiastic about. So a review from me would also be rather useless to others.
But it would be cool, the chances to meet other people would be so much higher.
I just hope they prevent people with mods playing online or have some anti cheat in it.
