As far as I know we are not in the same universe, it is more like parallel universes for every game mode (creative / normal / survival / permadeath) and every platform (PC / PS4 / Xbox).
Here is an official response from GoG to NMS crossplay.
creative/normal/survival/permadeath are straight up different universes. The permutations are different for the planets and bases/players arent shared.
platforms on the other hand are different. I've visited PC bases on my PS4 game, however i dont know if any of the players/orbs i saw were from PC.
I'm sorry what store?
*edit*
oh <censored store name>. right well GoG is about $10-20 cheaper currently than the key seller sites depending on your region. The (possible) downside is your not on steam.
Looking a bit further that site sucks, majorly. Aside from the fact its a key seller, the prices are higher than what steam sells the games for O.o
I went with this one paid xtra 2 dollars plus 3 dollar fee to download it via steam the key worked just fine XD Thanks so about 35$ total
Actually, it did.
It was just the 4 person multiplayer portion that was delayed by a few months.
Thanks, I forgot that universe is effected by the game mode.
Can you give me a certain example regarding the bases?
You maybe encountered one of the awesome bases of Kibbles, who builds on both PC and PS4, for example the arenas for Galactic Hub Star League[nomanssky.gamepedia.com].
However, the new NMS Online in the new version next summer could change this, but it's not sure, so don't take it for granted.
The advantage with GOG versions is: you have total control about game versions that you can update or downgrade at any time if you want. This is not possible with Steam which updates the game in online mode - wether you want it or not. Also GOG versions are DRM free, no nasty background services on your computer.
The advantage with Steam: Larger game catalogue, a far better refund policy.
