What I enjoy about your vids is that they remind me to stop and listen to the detailed creativity that is NMS.
I have tended to play with the sound low or off and will listen to an audio-book or silence while playing. As well, rushing into a space station and back out, as I recall you pointed out in your OP is not conducive to appreciating the ambient sounds. I appreciate that you are posting these vids.
Thank you. That is actually the main purpose of me doing these. Just really absorbing the sounds and sights of no man's sky. Takes me back to when I played at release. I took my time. Less of a grind or rush or push to farm and get units. Loved the exploration of it all.
And that's all still there don't get me wrong. In most ways everything is better and I'm happy for it. But with the extra grinds and push for better ships. Freighters. Frigates. Base building and some other things being locked behind story/opening tasks its easy to forget to just take the time to absorb everything in.
And little things can be hard to find. Making those videos I went to countless planets. Each one I checked Caves for anything really unique, lit up and bright etc. Every cave I found was lack luster. Kind of bummer. But when I do find that really nice looking one I'll use it for another video with sounds of the Caves (with water trickling down around) and maybe a planet that has storms that randomly come by. Capturing those sounds too.
Everyone's play style is different. But i like taking it a bit slow and easy in the game. And honestly it's a major de-stresser for me and calms me.

Good Job ...
Lol thanks.Next up is finding a good "webbed planet" with those balls or whatever that look like they are roped down.
Some do work for me. I did try a shuffle of the different ones the other night. However the columned planet video didn't give me that effect. Just doesn't have the right sound.
Going to experiment with a few other things like spacestation server room. Or maybe the ship sounds in various ways. Flying through space etc. Not sure yet.
I didn't even know let alone have heard what ASMR is until it was mentioned in this forum. I like different sounds and sound effects and I really have a interest in synths. I listen to most of what is in the game as far as sounds and music, but maybe not as close as some others.?
I think I know what one you're talking about with the bladed planet. I think that and the foaming/bubble planets I visited really didn't have much going on when I listened for music or sound effects.
I did initially want to do something more on the visuals. But since I'm mostly focused on the listening aspects and sounds I stuck with that as the focus. Also I do find most other music videos of various genres in the ambient synth cyberpunk etc usually have just a picture or an animated picture of sorts. I have no clue how to make the animated ones.
The creatures rolling around on the calcified planet that I added in were really just of one recording. I tried various areas and each time with music off and sound effects only there was so much other ambient noises going on with wind, the pulsating sound of those calcified looking deposits etc that it was hard to pinpoint and focus the creatures themselves. When I did add the audio in for them I kept them more on a back note with fade in and out and volume gain being a bit lower.
I've never actually done any video/audio editing really. It's definitely a learning experience. I'm using shotcut for it since it's free and will allow me to do 4k. Not that is really 100% needed.
